Would this be a decent upgrade from a Samsung J5 (2015)? Shopping for something better and don't want to pay out loads

If only it had a decent screen size. Can't imagine using something as small as a 5" screen now!

Rubbish. Fake iPhone only leverage PHONY had was battery life. With that gone nothing but a fake iPhone. #wantmymoneyback

Incredible deal for the spec.
What's better, this or a galaxy s6?

I'd take this, the Xperia X, mainly because it's more efficient, newer, has expandable memory, better battery and a lighter UI. The S6 seems to be getting to the stage where the displays are always burned to some extent now. It's only Rose Gold though, I'd want the white or Lime colour

Where did you get this information from? My wife has been using a S6 Edge for 2 years and the screen is perfect.

Because all the used S6 handsets we've had through the business have had some element of screen burn - usually the top bar slightly etched onto the display, it's barely noticeable (as the bar is generally always there) but AMOLED has a very finite life, things like Google Maps always-on usage or using it while charging accelerate it. I didn't say every device anyway, it's perfectly possible your wife's S6 Edge is fine but I wouldn't get a used AMOLED phone again unless it was really cheap (not to mention if you break the display for any reason the phone is essentially BER as the display forms part of the chassis).

I was torn between the 2 aswell, but went for the Xperia X as you can see its £100 cheaper than most s6's and the optimization of the os on the snapdragon 650 chipset is absolutely amazing (I've compared it to my friends s7s and its beaten them in almost all application launches apart from heavy games (gta).

I've got an Xperia X and I'd rather have an S7 Edge.
I'd considered the S6 Edge as well, but given the rumour that Samsung make phone batteries to only last about 3 years to prompt an upgrade, I thought it wise to avoid getting one, just to be on the safe side.
