That's strange, I got something like "Play this game with gold or buy it to keep" (Probably a very poor quote) There was an option to buy or one that said 'Install'
It also mentions it at the home menu so it's definitely live, if you have been gaming all night or had Xbox on, try restarting your console

No i mean, to own it beyond the weekend, normally f2p weekend games are on offer at the same time.

Cool! Have it on PC but would like to see how it looks on Xbox One to see if it is worth hunting for the achievements. Any excuse to play through again :stuck_out_tongue:
Any way to kick off the install remotely?

Going to give it a second chance, finished it minus the dlc on 360 but found it a bit dull compared to oblivion.

Same. I love all ES games, but Skyrim is somewhat overrated IMHO. I've been tempted by the remasters, but when I remember Skyrim's horrible, washed out, everything-is-light-brown-and-grey art design the temptation ends. Only the PSVR version has a chance of tempting me back in.

Each to their own but I couldn't disagree with you more. Oblivion was bloom overload, it looked ridiculous. Skyrims atmosphere definitely improved with the enhancements in the special edition though.

You're right about the bloom (and by god, the NPCs looked horrendous), but the world was at least colourful, whereas Skyrim looked lifeless and washed out. Don't get me wrong - I love that Skyrim brought Elder Scrolls to a wider audience, and I did enjoy it, but I don't quite understand why it's look upon as fondly as it is. I might check out the free version this weekend to check out the enhancements you mention, but I'm skeptical as to whether it'll make me re-assess the game.

I didn't play Oblivion on release, but I loved Fallout 3 onwards and Skyrim, and I am currently playing Oblivion (I have done some exploring and I am currently escorting Martin and Joffrie, so relatively early in the game). I do miss Skyrim - the world of Oblivion just feels empty compared. Maybe part of it is because I am coming to it expecting it to be more like Skyrim, which would have improved on some of Oblivions rough edges, but I find a walk through Skyrims map is much more interesting than walking across Oblivions.

This will be 10 - 20 pounds closer to Christmas. Probably worth holding off on buying it yet

25 is hardly on offer when this has been out a while. I would expect to find a physical copy for less
