Only marginally cheaper than a 9+23 deal

getting cheaper... getting cheaper. Personally I don't like the idea of such a large upfront payment. Too much at stake (i.e if you wrote off the vehicle early on) but I can understand it's suitable who would prefer the lower monthly rental.
Now to see if somebody can find a broker who can match thed eal but without processing fee. That would be a stonker. Shame I've still got 12 months to go on my lease.

Agreed. Reasonable enough and essential if leasing a new car.

Would they? I though guy they only cover remaining payments plus back difference in market/invoice price

there are several different options, best ring up and explain what you want rather than buying online.

So a diesel you can only do 8k miles in. You need to do about 20k plus to make a diesel a sensible choice. Either way its widely known they cause air pollution

So you're saying that it would be sensible to do more miles in something that causes air pollution...?

No it would be more sensible if you are doing less than 20k to buy a petrol. If you are doing more than 20k you have a choice of petrol or diesel, if you care about pollution get a petrol, if you only care about your pocket get a diesel

But this isn't about *buying* a diesel, it's leasing for 2 years for nearly the same price as the lower-spec 1.4 petrol version. 10,000 mostly motorway miles a year would still be a couple hundred quid cheaper on fuel, and possibly more pleasant with less revving and gearchanges in the much torquier, better equipped diesel, especially with family and/or luggage on board.
