Sharp have been making Android phones since 2012 but they have no presence in UK or European phone market: gsmarena.com/sha…php.
They were the first company to release a 'bezel-less' phone back in 2014, the Aquos Crystal< The Aquos S2 is their most recent 'bezel-less' phone.

It came out 3 years ago so I guess it was the original. When the Xiaomi Mi Mix came out last year, a few articles/reviews would have mentioned the Sharp Aquos Crystal having had the same type of design. For example this review @0:20:

Wanted that phone so bad a few years ago. Absolutely love the design and it was pretty unique at the time.
Samsung and LG usually make the screens for iphones/ipads. Foxconn now own the largests share of Sharp, but they dont make amoled screens yet. so Samsung will be doing the iphone screens for a little while longer.

We had the same major worries when we bought a £700 gaming laptop from them last Christmas. We were so concerned that we requested a cancellation of the sale 30 hours after buying. They are very tricky to contact with queries but they did cancel the sale in the end with no pushback or hassle. Their customer comfort experience leaves a lot to be desired but they are not a sham in our experience

Cannot find any proper reviews, but looks like a very good phone...I would have bought it just for the Sharp badge...

I wouldn't rely on any brand name badge nowadays, especially a brand that used to be a leader but has now refinanced/restructured itself in certain technology fields, outsourcing production and quality control, Sharp, Polaroid, et al.
