I can't see any reference to a D number, eg 570D. The 560D is a rebadged 460. But I can't see any evidence of any difference on this 570. The Amazon page says The specs look correct.
SAPPHIRE Radeon RX 570 PULSE ITX 4 GB GDDR5 DP/HDMI/DVI-D Graphics Card DVI-D means it has one Digital only DVI connection and not a DVI/VGA connection like older cards have.

So if I preorder this right now at £156 will I pay that even if the price rises? Other sites have this card listed at over £200.

That's correct.
The Youtube and web reviewers suggest decent oc capabilities and fairly quiet operation, especially taking into account the small factor form.
Allegedly, the other sapphire pulse (Rx 580 8gb) offered as a pre order too, should be in stock in the middle of next month so let's hope this one will get delivered about the same time or earlier.

I'd pay £20 more for a 1060, faster and hell of a lot more efficient for gaming.

Good to know. I'm waiting for the 1060 6gb version to stabilise at around £225 (preferably less!) for my new build.

How long are you willing to wait? 3 months, or longer? RAM prices are still on the up, so it may take longer than expected, as it is impacting the manufacturers of these cards as much as the end user. You might be lucky and catch an offer on one, but I'd set up an alert since it looks like the new normal is going to be slightly higher than it was before.

I'm in no rush and could easily wait another 2 years before building my ideal PC. I'm actually toying with the idea of a Nintendo Switch in the meantime. In comparison it looks FUN, not drop-everything-and-play-for-a-month-intense gaming you get with most games these days.

Pends what your current build is. I just upgraded from a core2duo to a Ryzen 1600. Massive improvement after 10 years. Snatched a 1060 6gb card for £230 after postage. Got a bit lucky on that front after spotting a deal on here. I tried the waiting game for 2+ years. At some point you just have to set a date and build it. I recycled HD, SSD and dvdrw drive. You might even be able to reuse case and power supply pending on it's age and if it's not a OEM build like Dell.
I think bitcoin mining is here to stay. Prices may go up and down but they would have to crash hugely for the craze to stop. $200 for bitcoin currency is likely still profitable for many. Some may have already paid off their rig costs. It will take the market months if not years to recover from the current stock shortages. The manufacturers are not increasing production. So supply issues could last for months if not years. The RX 580 would be much better for 1080p gaming.

I would like to buy everything around black Friday. Similar to you, I can recycle my old PSU and HDD, but want to upgrade to a 240gb ssd for the OS and programs. I really want to stay below the £600 mark including £230 for the gtx 1060 6gb.
gummby to scroterot
17 Sep 17#30
Oh I couldn't recycle my case or PSU. I had bought an SSD a few years back on black Friday. I was able to upgrade Windows 7 for free. Just pick the savings where the performance isn't. Graphics, CPU and ram are the big costs here. 8gb vs 16gb can save loads! RX580 vs RX570 too another £50. Ryzen 1600 vs Ryzen 1200 another £100. Choices! Or wait? You can always buy parts now if you find them cheap on here.

That's the plan, to keep looking out for good deals on various parts on here. I've got my mind set on Intel over Amd, for overall performance. Im starting off with the G4560, which i know is limiting but id rather invest more in the gpu than cpu for now. Only 8gb of ram in a good value Mobo for around £50 that supports 32gb ram (bonus if it supports 64gb). I've used PC part picker and have got a list ready, but want to buy as many of the parts as I can at the same time at best price (most likely Black Friday).
gummby to scroterot
17 Sep 17#32
I used UK part picker too to get an idea on products and users views. Great for finding good prices too. Only issue with G4560 is it's not quad core but has 4 threads. Great budget CPU though. Intel's 8th edition CPU is coming out in October? Do not expect any giveaway price wise. The i3 will be quad core. For your budget maybe Kabylake Intel is way to go. Of course you won't be able to swap in a 6 core CPU in a few years time. Intel are moving to a new socket AGAIN!

Because his conclusion was: The 1060 3gb and the 570 were nearly identical at 1080p, with the 1060 3gb coming out 2% ahead.

Remember the Rx570 4gb and 1060 3gb are all cut down versions not just in memory size but also clock speed and other features. One site I read said the 1060 3gb was only a 1060 card by name.
The 8gb rx580 is currently £219 on Amazon. So £50 more than this on pre order. That has a suggested release of mid October. Pends what you want in terms of performance. RX580 is more future proofing? 4gb today may limit games in the future?

I suspect you'll be waiting a helluva long time for this. I ordered a very (very!) similar card under the same Amazon status ("This item has not yet been released"). That was back on 19th June. Still waiting

If that happens then Seoul would be decimated in hours and literally millions of people killed on both sides. I hope that it can be avoided, Kim Jong is a nutter but attacking him with conventional weapons will not work at all. Plus America were lucky in WW2 it was an easy job for them, they have a track record of messing up, they thought they could defeat a small country called Vietnam which is not a lot bigger than the UK and it ended up in a 10 year war where they effectively lost and had to leave. Lastly the USA has arguably the worst leader in their history after G W Bush, so it's a recipe for disaster.

Attack now and NK 'might' be able to load a nuke in to a warhead that can hit Seoul or Guam. Wait 12 months and it might well have one that can hit London.
Seoul are as guilty as Obama for faffing about, penning strongly worded letters etc which have achieved nothing. The world has 6 months, possibly less before we reach the brink of no return and have to accept them as a nuclear power, bullying the US, UK, Japan, SK and Australia much to Russia's and to a lesser extent the chinese's glee.
Imagine if Chechnya had nukes and threatening to drop one on Moscow, or Taiwan telling China they will wipe them off the map, could you see Putin or Jinping p*ssing about with luxury car sanctions or banning sale of perfume, or would they go in all guns blazing while they still have the bigger sticks?

Price won't go down quick unless the retailers are stocked up and the competition kicks in.at this stage there are massive issues with availability so no one is rushing to reduce the price, even if they have cards in stock.
Used mining rigs started to show up more often but that's still far from flooding the market, the speculators keeps the cryptocurrency market alive as nothing give them similar returns. It may continue for a while but certainly there are going to be fewer newcomers mining - wise so the situation should improve very soon.
a proper cryptocurrency crash will come anyway, it is just a matter of time so this is when we get the graphic cards significantly cheaper, regardless of the high memory cost.
