£549 at Currys, only £70 dearer than the £429 Nonsense 50" at Argos but this one has HDR :sunglasses:

Is the Hisense H50N6800 better than as I’m looking at that also ?

The Hisense N6800 is a mid range tv where the Samsung MU6100 is a budget tv. the reviews are really good on the Hisense where the reports are this Samsung suffers badly from backlight bleed and clouding in the corners and edges. the Hisense is a better tv on paper but for £499 for a 50" panel this Samsung is getting tempting.

Can't speak for Hisense TV's as I've never seen one. Realistically if you want a good 4K picture, a decent HDR image and a half decent build quality you need to spend £1500+
If £500 is your limit and you want it now get the Samsung but I'd save that money for later in the year when LG, Panasonic or even Sony sets can be had for around the same money.

Whys that?...I tend to stlck to sony as I find the picture more natural....but wondering why you're so against Samsung. . I'm not a big fan of Samsung myself after their bait and switch scheme on monitors some years ago....got stung myself there.

Can you do me a favour and let me know if you find anything decent, my budget is £1k and I'm struggling, every one I decide on has "white bleed" issues or "isn't proper HDR" it's doing my head in. I even decided on the £1500 LG OLED but apparently that's got issues too!!!!

If you have 1k id look at getting a ks7000/8000 Samsung, 10bit, high nits and great reviews.

They're last years I think the equivalent is the mu8000 range, if you google you can still find sellers and can get pretty good prices. I'm actually thinking of getting a 55 ks7000 myself but can't really afford it!!

Ahhh... thanks for that, I think that the MU range is being a bit slated, supposedly not as good as the KS series, Ican't remember what the issue was but I was close to buying (I just get close to clicking buy and then something crops up, it's doing my head in  )

Looks ok to me but doing a quick search i see its 8-bit HDR which I'm sure will bother some of the experts.

For this price don't expect a 10-bit. Start upping your budget to £900/1000+

I got this model from Argos for £429 and it's been brilliant. It's hooked up as my laptop monitor and I frequently use Netflix, Youtube and the Eurosport Players, brilliant investment.

Heat added... I was literally about to get the Hisense 49" 5700. Hdr 8bit+FRC for £444 from hughes... Should I push the budget a little for the Samsung simply bc WHO THE HECK IS HISENSE?? Never heard of em. What you reckon, go for the Samsung?

JL price matched Hughes for the 49N5700, and then you have the 35 day return window if it is not the machine for you. This is my second Hisense, and they are cracking sets for the money, and the 49N5700 is direct lit too, which helps.

Just if this helps anyone: I had one last 31 days and then got the runaround from Samsung and hughes, I'm actually glad it broke and its being replaced as I've upped to a better model as the judder was genuinely truly awful, well for me anyway (even with all the gizmos on max to try and help)...
It may be just fine for most! Good price and spot tho!

I bought this TV a few weeks ago and it's awesome. Massive upgrade from my 1080p. Colours are amazing, picture is crystal clear and the sound is great. Just make sure to turn off the motion smoothing stuff otherwise the picture looks weird.
