I have this monitor. Excellent quality, and although I bought mine 2nd-hand for £240, but this is decent value new at just under £300. If I needed another, I'd go for this!

What's this like from a work productivity perspective? Currently I'm using 2 dual 24 1080p's

That would largely depend on the graphics card you're using as these 4k screens are demanding.....but productivity would be absolutely fine I'd say. I work and game (with 1070 gfx) on mine, and it's good for both.

I bought this monitor a couple of weeks ago, it has a great screen, but I had to adjust the size of text to 150% otherwise the small text size hurt my eyes. Also worth noting that if you are buying for a slightly older GFX card (I have an old HD6700) I had to patch the drivers otherwise it would only do 1080p max.

4k on a 28" monitor? How close do you have to sit to notice any difference between that and HD?

Normal viewing distance for a computer monitor (not TV) should be easily close enough to notice a difference, so I guess 40cm or so.
If you can't see pixellation on a full HD 1080p monitor, then it's probably not worth you upgrading, but for those who can see it, it's a significant difference in sharpness.

It's a TN panel so viewing angle is not very good. 24" is IPS and is great but not sold anymore unforunately. The mini display port input seems to be problematic on all sizes of this model but large display port is fine. Only one of the 2 HDMI ports is HDMI 2.0 so many unlucky people report not being able to get [email protected] .

Yes I was just reading this yesterday when the deal was posted, looks like a beautiful screen even if it is tn but the issues and reviews make you want to stay away

Can anyone tell me please if this and the 28. A 10 bit panel?

The 4K ultra HD resolution of the U28E590D is your standard 3840 x 2160 pixels of 4K UHD instead of the more professionally oriented 4096 x 2160 pixels while color support on the UE590D is definitely superior. With 10-bit color and full sRGB spectrum coverage, the monitor provides a solid range of 1.07 billion colors and excellent saturation. It also offers a very decent Delta E color accuracy that errs from realism by a very small margin of less than 1.5. There are better color accuracy levels out there but this isn’t a bad level at all.
Amazon have just restocked this, grab it while you can..

Well the jokers didn't deliver over the weekend (so much for Prime) and it's "expected" in a couple of days time (When I won't be in due to work). I wonder if they WANTED me to cancel since it's gone up in price..........................
