What VR is it?

I've just ordered this as an upgrade on my Sony Z3 Compact that has served me well for three years. I use less than 1GB of data so 3GB is plenty for me and the tariff is pretty much the same as my sim only contract that has expired, for which I was paying THREE £11 a month. For me, this deal works out at £698 minus £264 (for the sim only contract it's replacing) so the cost of the phone itself is £434 or £409 if quidco goes through, of which I only pay £50 up front plus get a UK phone and warranty with next day delivery...... that definitely beats the grey imports with a paper thin warranty (if that).

A question that's already been asked but I'm also wondering is what's the VR that comes free with this deal???..... can't find any details on their website.

You can buy outright on amazon for around 530 atm but this is probably a good deal for those not wanting to buy outright

Actually most of the world gets the Exynos; the USA (and a select few) is pretty much the only major market that gets snapdragon because they offer modems that can cover all the ridiculously different mobile tech that is out there. We are fortunate that all our networks are GSM (this is pre 4G but still relevant until 4G has 100% coverage) but in the US they split between CDMA and GSM.

Can anyone tell me when the contract starts? Is it when you order or open and use the sim for the first time?

Also can anyone tell me as to how to port my old o2 number to the new contract sim?

Good question but it is usually a grace period of 1 week where they send you the sim and you should have received in that time frame.
You keep your number by asking for a porting authorisation code from your current network.

What will happen on Black Friday ? Nothing. You will have to wait till Boxing day or New Year's Eve.

They are always black Friday deals in November specially on phones. Type in black Friday mobile phone deals 2017 in Google, a few sites even ask you to sign up to be altered.

Past events got Samsung S6 for £22 on black Friday via CPW, last year Samsung S7 for wife £19.22 per month again black Friday, can you see the pattern here...

They was no upfront cost, the phone was free, 500 minutes unlimited text, 3gb data at the time for £22 on Vodafone for the Samsung S6 via carphone warehouse.

The S7 again 500 minutes, unlimited text, 6gb data, 500meg roaming at the time before free roaming was out, no upfront cost £19.88 or there abouts.

Vodafone matched the carphone warehouse deal plus discount as should have been £20 to £22, long story but if you are a Vodafone customer already and try get another contract carphone warehouse declines it or Vodafone as carphone warehouse set up new accounts not 2nd lines..

So I contacted CPW told me to ring Vodafone, they was blaming each other, I got onto Vodafone chat told them, they offered me the deal plus 20% discount since I had a line with them, in the end CEO department of Vodafone sorted it all after I kept all the evidence of original declined order from CPW and the online chat transcript.

I just sold my iphone 7 for £450 so I'm thinking of getting a sim-free one if it pops up on gumtree or similar for circa £400 as I'm on plusnet's £6 p/m and it's perfect for me.

I appreciate that but in 2 months prices will drop a bit anyway.

Price you pay. I used the 25OFFMOB code and paid 50 up front then it's 27 a month. Just collected and it comes with the 2017 Gear Vr.

It’s £100 upfront now, so £75 with the voucher. It’s £175 on EE for £27.99 a month with 5GB of data but there’s a voucher code for £65 off that.

Think the other online offer expired.
