i've edited to add 9-10 hours flight time. i've flown caribbean the last few years and it eases you in gently, travel day one, try and stya up for an evening meal a few beers first night, then get a regular sleep and be on the +5 hours timeframe, coming home, a few hours kip on the fllight and i'm usually back to normal hours.

4 and a half hours is my limit. We did Turkey, then Lanzarote and in a couple of weeks Spain. I'm the worst flyer imaginable with regular visits to the doctors before hand for the Diazepam treatment
I kind of feel for the family, we're slowly getting closer and closer to the UK for our breaks. I'm thinking next year France then in 2020 possibly Devon

Then you probably haven't heard much. I lived in Playa del Carmen for over a year, told regularly stumble home in the middle of the night, and I lived in a Mexican neighborhood. The only concerns were to run past the stray dogs in the Mexican neighborhood, as they're likely to chase you unless you're walking. This is obviously not a problem in the touristy parts, where anyone from here would spend their time. Oh, and the occasional police bribe, but £5 will get you out of most stuff. Again, more likely to happen to you if you live and work there.

It is possible there are reasonable areas but i wouldnt take a chance if i didnt have to. I prefer not to be chased by dogs either.

Sounds cheap. But gulf of mexico. Risk of tornados and tropically harsh weather ? Republic of trump a stones throw away with Kim Jong Yung Clown threatening to press the red button and send things that way .....
Maybe me being overly cautious. But if i needed to go out there for a family visit or work commitment - great.
But to put my family in potentially harms way , id rather miss out on this 'bargain' .

A relation flew out yesterday with wife and 5 month old child ,So checked weather , there's thunderstorms and temps of 84 for the next week, then checked a bit further and its like Florida , you see the dark clouds coming head for cover then a quick storm then dry about 10 minutes . That will be it for the day.

These prices come and go all the time, but still a good find.
I did the trip to Puerta Vallarta (opposite side of Mexico) trip a few years back with Thompson, return for £240. The plane had technical problems on the way home, was stuck for 4 hours on the runway so they cancelled and rescheduled the flight for the next day. But because it was a Thompson flight and they had contacts with the local resorts the whole plane got 5star accomodation for the night. Was pleasantly surprised, especially as I was included and I wasnt on a package holiday, i just bought the cheap flights.
So yeah, this is a pretty good deal considering the operator.

Two people sharing? Or just single tickets also?

I spent a lovely time diving the Cenotes around Tulum. Excellent cavern and cave diving.

I'd feel much safer in the tourist resorts of the Yucatan peninsular than I would in London or even big cities like Manchester for example.

In playa del carmen region atm... Not same as Florida afternoon flash thunderstorm from my experience. Most days been fine, sometimes morning rain showers. But yesterday lunchtime torrential rain for an hour! Lots of mosquito bites when never usually affected. But overall very safe, upmarket hotel complex. Around 32 degrees every day since last Tuesday

Absolute poppycock! Most are £400 plus flight only! Add your hotels and a all inclusive holiday would be cheaper with the same company!
