Well I just received my replacement device after my original 6P starting powering off with plenty of battery left.

It's another proxy 6P. :poop:

It's in a retail box that is still sealed. I'm worried they've suddenly found a stash of old original 6Ps they didn't sell. :face_with_monocle:

I'm still pushing for a full refund but it's hard work. I mentioned I was not happy with half the storage and a smaller display. According to this rep, the 6P screen size is the same as the Pixel and I should be very happy I've been sent a Pixel

My problem is I got it from CPW which are useless, he sent me details for Huawei customer support too, I don't want to return it to them I just want a replacement lol

My 6P has started powering off at around 30%. I just telephoned the Google Store support and told them this and that I have factory reset and flashed the latest factory images, and the guys still wanted me to try factory resetting it once more, and to run it in safe mode! :poop:
I told him I was sure this wouldn't prove anything, and surely he's heard of the battery problem with the 6Ps - but he seemed completely oblivious to it.

Bang got brand new pixel 32gb as well for replacement for 6p so happy days for me

Full refund.. nice! That's what I'm after ideally! I'd then probably buy the Note 8. Although I could get the Pixel 2 since Google's customer service has proved to be fairly good!

Btw I also received a Pixel XL 32gb. It's an improvement in every aspect apart from speakers and storage. As I said you do get unlimited full res photo back ups for life so the 20gb of photos accrued on N6P won't be as much of an issue. The mono speaker is a let down. As long as the battery behaves on this device!

Alternatively sell it and put thr money towards the Pixel 2 next month.

My replacement still hasn't been dispatched (ordered 18th, dispatch was due 19th, should have been here today at latest). Anyone else's replacement delayed? I wonder if they have run out of stock.

I'm happy with my replacement for time being. I can see myself getting a pixel or a refund as there's no way this phone will last another 2 years what with all the problems people have been having.

I also just got a black Pixel XL 32gb (for my Nexus 6P 64gb Aluminium).
Initially disappointed with the drop in capacity, but just saw they only do a 32gb or 128gb Pixel, so I guess I'll leave it.

I can sort of understand being downgraded to 32gb if you had originally purchased a 64gb Nexus 6P but if you had 128gb Nexus to begin with the 32gb Pixel replacement just isn't acceptable. Yes there is a massive price difference but that is the penalty to Google for failing to properly test the software/hardware before releasing the Nexus 6P. Or maybe that's all that they had in stock...

You can ask them. They might ask you for proof of the device. They are denying outright that they've sent any pixel XL's to uk customers even though I've seen one in the flesh and know of a number of other devices that have been replaced with 32GB xls.

My replacement 6P had a problem so they've told me they'll refund me for my 6P.
I'd actually like a Pixel XL so I might have take the full refund then buy a XL from carphonewarehouse for the same money.

Got my replacement this morning & same thing, although mine was a 128gb Nexus 6p & my replacement device was a 32gb Pixel XL.

Okay - quick update, even though Google's correspondence said a 'Refurbished 64GB Nexus 6P' - I have just received a BRAND NEW 32GB Black Pixel XL device in the post today. Not sure if I should contact Google to get the correct size or simply resell this device...

My warranty replacement due to arrive today. Pleaded with the agent to send me a Pixel XL as dubious a replacement Nexus 6P will not have the same issues. The order shows up as a Graphite 64gb Nexus 6P (i.e. An exact replacement). We shall see...

I spoke to EE this morning as I purchased mine from there. Took it in to the shop today and they are sending it off to get looked at. Hopefully they'll replace it for a Pixel XL, but i doubt they will. My Nexus is about 18 months old.

Just finished the process. Getting a refurbished 6P. Shame I'm not getting a new device but I can always reject the replacement if it's not perfect. It has to be like new for me to accept a device thats had someone else's mucky mits on it.

Replacements come with 2 years warranty too.

I've requested a replacement. Got off the phone to the Google support and had told them thanks but no thanks (didn't see benefit of swapping for same phone which would likely develop same innate hardware problem). Later in the evening phone shut down at 15%. Guess I have nothing to lose.

The word seems to be even though your order says 1 thing you may get another as even in this thread someone got a 128Gb to replace a 64Gb so not all hope is lost just yet.

Got my 20 month old nexus 6p replaced. No pixel xl, just refurb 6p, can't moan about. Had battery issues, cutting out at 20%, and finger scanner broke. Good news as you get two year warranty on refurbished 6p.

Blimey I didn't think the battery problem was this widespread! Thing is the people who have been given refurb/new devices how long before it starts to happen again? And will they eventually have to replace them all together as we've just been given another 2 years warranty.

Also just been offered a refurb Nexus 6P to replace my 18month old device that has been regularly shutting down at 15-20%. The agent advised he was not aware of any Pixel XLs being issued as replacements and they could only offer a like for like exchange.

Nexus 6P 64GB, received a 6P through RMA but it was a refurb 128GB so double the storage space which isn't bad (the email actually said 64GB). Bit disappointed to hear about all the US and CA customers getting Pixels but ah well.

The screen just died on my 6p. .. went grey where should have been white..

On my 4th 6p since purchasing at launch 2015. First one returned for bootloop, second for battery issue, third for bootloop and this one has started shutting off at 30-40% battery. Called up Google yesterday and they sent me yet another refurbished 6p. However the rep did say that this would be the last one and we could look at other 'solutions' if I have anymore problems with my 5th device after it arrives. Will give it a week or so then give them a call back and try my luck at another ''solution' I think.....

Bought my Nexus 6P around launch time. Got it from CPW as it was £50 cheaper than Google store.

Had the battery issue where it would power off at 30% and below.
The phone has a 2 year manufacturer warranty.

I took it back to CPW store who despite their best efforts to book it in for repair they were limited by the system on the computer so they couldn't put in a proper details fault note. They sent it off for me to Huawei and it returned surprise surprise with a note to say they found no issue and they had 'upgraded' the software to a lower version that was on it when i sent it in for repair!

When I got it back I went straight to Huawei's online web chat facility and the person there helped me much better.
I made it clear what the fault was (powering off at 30% and below) and it was a known issue on the web (Look at the Nexus 6P Reddit thread ). They sent me out a bag for me to send my phone to them direct for repair.

When i packaged up my phone for repair I included a letter for the engineer to read stating what as wrong, also saying it was the battery that was at fault and it needed replacing. (I mentioned I had been using AccuBattery App to track the battery health and it stated it was at 69% health which seemed to match the fault).

They sent it back to me under 2 weeks time, with a new battery and, Android 7.1.1 installed and working perfectly.

I have left it at that as Android 7.1.2 breaks the fingerprint reader and also Android O has screen flickering issues too...so staying put at the moment.

If you are being offered a Pixel XL, im guesing they are refurbs, and it seems Pixel XLs are having battery issues crop up now too... probably a similar issue of the battery coming to the end of their life and needing to be replaced.

Currently you'll get a refurbished 6P in the UK with a 2 year warranty. My 6P is 6 months old and they aren't having any of it!

I had my 6P replaced by Google for free back around March. There were reports of then doing so and although my phone was around 5 months our of warranty I didn't have to even ask they just offered a free replacement.

Sold mine to music magpie a few months back as battery would say 20% then die!

I have been plagued by the battery being hammered and then just dying at the 15 - 20% mark for a while now.
Used to get the 30% and then 15% warning but never happens now.
I don't know what has changed and was just accepting it really but this has given me hope of at least getting a better 6P back if I report it.
I did buy it direct from Google so will deal with them later.

Booting up seems to take ages also compared to other videos etc I have seen but never had the boot loop issue.

I just had mine replaced, had it for 18 Months, battery drain issue.

I got a refurb Nexus 6P in a plain box but it looked like new, not a mark on it.
The one I sent back had a bent volume control from me dropping it and you get another short USB-C cable.

The battery life in the new one is superb, also told it comes with a two year guarantee.
Love the phone and didn't want to change so very happy. :grin:

I supported nexus devices religiously, but the laughable way their products have been supported with third party products, and then to have parts entirely ringfenced to promote the pixel line have left me opting to look for a new device. Sadly, I will never buy another google device again.

Can confirm. My 64GB N6P was in an infinite bootloop so I sent it back a couple weeks ago. Got a 128GB Pixel XL back! Even in the shipping email it was stated to be a refurb N6P, only found out it was a Pixel XL when I opened the package. Great phone, highly recommend it if you can get it

Edit: Just wanted to confirm I bought my N6P from the Google Store direct initially. Also, my N6P was shutting down at 20% all the time as well, which I actually initially called them about, and it qualifies for warranty though they wanted me to try a few things first. Then the next day it went into the bootloop so I called them again to speed up the warranty process

My 6p kept shutting down when it got to 20-15%.
Finally spoke to Google on monday 11th and they sent me a new 6p as a replacement which arrived next day! The battery is a lot better. I asked about warranty and they said I had another 2 years as I was abit concerned that this seems to be a common problem.

I still think the phones Great (at least I've another 2 years peace of mind)

Never had an issue with my iPhone 6s the past 2 years, and neither with my 5s the 2 years I had that, due for an upgrade this November and was thinking about android due to extortionate iPhone x prices, but I'll think twice now, may be worth sticking to apple

Nice, my nexus 6p for in a bootloop few months back and I didn't have boot loader unlocked, so it's a paperweight now. Unfortunately I bought this second hand so no way of me getting a replacement - I have at some point ordered a 6p and then sold so I could try and say it's that one, bit I'm sure they ale figure it out via imei or serial number. They should just do it for all I think, it doesn't matter how you purchased one but it developed a fault which is clearly non-user fault...

If you bought it second hand, then you're out of luck. Only the original purchaser is entitled.
