Ok this is maybe not a deal for everyone but if you are a fan of the football manager series and have football manager 2017 in your steam library you can get 25% off the preorder price for the new 2018 game. This is available until the the 9th octobaccording to the link page.
Maybe in the virtual FM world you'll finally see Arsenal sack Wenger, Mike Ashley give Rafa some of the promised transfer money to spend or even England finally perform well at a major tourna.....or maybe not. Some things are probably too much of a stretch even for the virtual footballing world.

Bought plenty of FM games in the past, but they seem to improve less and less between versions lately. Added to that, two months from release (less than that to the beta) and there's absolutely nothing announced regarding the game. No new features, no details of improvements, no videos, not even a single screenshot. I don't know who's in charge of marketing but they aren't doing a very good job. I won't buy a game I know nothing about, and it doesn't exactly give the impression that Sega / SI are confident in their product either.
Having checked the website they say the "first details" will be revealed "in late September". That's only about 2-3 weeks before the beta. Definitely waiting for reviews on this one.

I know what you mean. The last few versions have been nothing more than iterations with minor tweaks and data updates. It'd be nice if this years was different but like you have said the silence is deafening thus far. That said I know I'll give in and buy it anyhow so figured I might as well get the 25% off while I can.

Go to SortItOutSI, create an account and you get it slightly cheaper again ... already visible in my Steam library

Can you send me a link to the sortitoutsi deal? I'm looking at their page (https://sortitoutsi.net/shop/product/7/football-manager-2018) and the cheapest I can see is £30.65 with 'free' touch version if you are a premium member (costing £10 per year). Am I missing something?

it'll go down to around £20 so just wait

Must be missing something here, SortItOutSI shows it as £35.82 for free members, and £30.65 if you pay the £10/year membership, both of which are higher than the £28.49 steam price...
Edit: also the Touch version is included for free with all purchases, whether via steam or boxed copy etc.
Edit2: found this on the SortItOutSI forums, there was an additional discount but they weren't allowed to offer it as it was a steam only deal, so they've had to withdraw it: sortitoutsi.net/for…ved

Never paid more than £15 for it - pick it up from non leagueclub shops online.

Agreed, it is what I've done for the last few years

TBH I felt this year has been the best version of both FM and FIFA since 2012 versions of both games. I think I'll stick with both for a while yet and I owned every version of both since the very first CM and FIFA. By contrast the year before was rubbish for both and the most balanced of both before this year was 2012!

I think they've proven time and time again that the games just aren't enjoyable until they've put out at least 2 or 3 patches to fix the mountains of bugs that come with the game upon release. Fair play to anyone that tries the beta - I couldn't put myself through that!
As others have said, I usually pick it up a lot cheaper later on - granted I only just bought FM17, but at least I know it should be working ok! Paying £28.49 should only be for obsessives.

U could just play FIFA/PES career modes... Much better and u can play the games if u wish.

What a silly comparison. They're very different games offering very different things

Still on FM14, waiting for a good new iteration  I hope this is the one but will wait on reviews and demo's first.
I'm playing career mode on Fifa 17 right now through Origin Access. It's insanely repetitive and unchallenging, despite cranking difficulty up. Lacks the level of depth and control FM games give me.

It’s 9th October, not 9th September, so will have chance to see what new features they announce.

You're right, apologies I thought it was 9th of September. I'll see if I can edit the description. Thanls

Do FM fans even have time to come on HUDs to look for good deals?

Titles a bit misleading, this is the discount price. its not "£28.49 via steam before 9th October and get 25% off if you have FM2017"

Oops I see what you mean. I really should get someone to proof read these things before I post them. hopefully most people figured out what I meant.

Haha it's easily done. I'm sure most people got it. Hopefully they'll cut the price permanently seeing as last years got slated. Can't see it though, suspect it'll be a buggy, minimal effort squad update as usual. :disappointed:
