I think it was deleted because the game has gone free to play, so anyone can get it for "free" but you only get one course and to get the rest of the content now costs more than the full game used to? (I may be wrong).

I would be careful of free games from other countries. I have got friends whose accounts were banned after getting free games from other countries.

Probably got something unrelated. AFAIK, there have been no verifiable incidents of such bans.

Are you SURE this happened??? I questioned this before as its my fear (losing all my digital content for a £5 game!), I was assured that it is not a problem, but I still think the risk isn't worth it?

I got 2 xbox360 banned many years back for the rayman legends game from a different region so I learned my lesson

Many did get banned from downloading free games from other countries on the Xbox 360. Don't think I can recall any bans from the Xbox one as the console is completely region free. it's not really the end users fault if they choose to change the language on their console and see a different gwg game. If Microsoft did have a problem with it they would at least geo block the stores.

That makes SENSE, but again, its not definitive. As I said, IF the T&C prohibit it, they surely could act? ignorance is no defence

Of course you won't get banned. You're not doing anything wrong. You're accessing their marketplace and clicking a button.
At the very most they might take the game off you but talk of bans is silly.

I would normally agree, but this is Microsoft, they have a history of issuing bans which they refuse to negotiate on.
Your illustration does not prove or justify anything. Put it this way, if I stumbled across £20 in the street and decided to keep it, I can be prosecuted for theft, yet all I did was pick it up... do you see where I'm coming from? IF the terms of use for XBLive prohibit the cross country access to free content, "pressing the button" may well result in a ban?
Its not "silly" for people to look for reassurance over and above someone telling them its OK because they've done it, I would feel happier with something from MS telling me that its OK

At the risk of being called everything from a pig to a dog for contacting them, I have gone on livechat with MS and they have categorically confirmed that this is OK. He said the format wasn't region locked so I was OK to "purchase" anything I wanted on the understanding that the language may not be in English.... which is not what I was asking. I reiterated that I was talking about Games with Gold and he said its all good, no region lock, no restrictions, he told me to download and enjoy!!
I have of course kept the livechat record just in case, but I'm off to play me some golf!!

Hey, if that's what you needed to get your rampant paranoia under control, then all the best. Enjoy the game!

I can only assume you don't have any digital games (which is surprising as been the cheapest way, along with game sharing, to get XB1 games for the past few years). I know I personally wouldn't take even a 0.1% chance that I'd lose the ability to gameshare if i was banned from Xbox Live for the sake of saving £5 on some budget, few hours of fun game.

Exactly my point, good to see that others understand the pretty basic concept.
It's all well and good people like thekitkatshuffler saying "don't worry it's ok because I don't know anyone who's been banned", but if I'm the first one to get banned, I lose 1000's of pounds worth of software.
Some people just can't be civil, I posted back to assure these like me who value their digital cataolgue but idiots like him make me wish I'd just not bothered!

Well I've done the "buy" thing on the JP website and got the confirmation screen. The game is showing as FREE (it's free to play anyway!), but the full game unlock ie. the actual content (let's face it, the game!) is still showing as £15.99??
