I had one of these and I wasn't fussed on it... worst thing was trying to use your phone/tablet outside on a sunny day to control it was a nightmare. Maplin on ebay sell refurb Propel drones for approx £30 - comes with a controller and much easier to fly than the Parrot.

thanks will take a look... anyone have this, thoughts?
Also, the 50m range on the Parrot isn't a lot... mine used to go out of range, flip over and just crash into the ground!

2.4 WiFi for controlling any quad is an awful idea.
Get a hubsan x107 or syma x8c

Breaks very easy. And battery lasts 5 mins. Returned 2 of these to maplins, who told me they can't get spare batteries for these anymore.

Up to 18 minutes battery life. Not exactly a lot of flight time. By the time you have got a grasp of the controls it will need charged again.

Don't believe the 18 mins flight time with the battery that comes with it. Expect about a third of that.

Agree with OP, this is a lot of drone for the money.
However, it's a lot of not brilliant drone.
It's still a lot.
It's unfair to pretend you need to compare this to 30 quid drones
Buy when you do compare it to the drones that it shares a lot of its more impressive specs with, it doesn't come off well.

Having owned both the parrot and propel drones i can honestly say that the propel was the better drone. The flight time was only 10-12 mins but batteries are very cheap, comes with its own controller and you control the photos/videos taken from the remote itself. And for a third of the price it's a no brainer. The parrot was big, bulky and awkward to control... The propel actually has a stunt button for you to perform flips etc so easily, looks impressive to someone watching.

Go for DJI drones. They cost more but they just work!

I would rather pay £300 on something that did what I expected than £100 on packing foam! But point taken.
