I noticed price went up everywhere so where is the best place to buy a cheap boxed copy of that game ?

I would assume that regular players hate these free weekends because you get an influx of noobs and idiots turning up. Or is the game level/skill matched so that regulars won't see the noobs?

You won't match with the level 1s on the free trial.

Is it any good for playing on your own? I don't mean like single player, I mean like do I need to be in a party with mates to get the most out of it?

This game quickly gets boring. The best multiplayer game on PC right now is Dawn of War 3 after the latest patch.

I felt the same initially but after sticking with it you realise there is quite alot of strategy to the game. Also, I like using all of the characters.
The Game of the Year Edition doesn't really offer much benefit for £10 extra.

Its a decent game. However there are far too many immature trolls playing it - spamming insults and general nonsense in the chat. And good luck working as a team, too many players don't or want to work together - they just pick an easy attacking class and run off by themselves, just wanting a high score.

Thanks, will give it a go. Seems like a good game. I'm a Battlefield player and other games haven't grabbed me like that has. I'm curious if this will. Sounds like a contender!

I don't like shooters much.
I really enjoy Overwatch.
It really is the game for people who don't gel with the insta-headshot reflex world of COD and the like. Yeah, I quite like a bit of those characters every now and again, but in my session this morning I played two different kinds of healers, two different tanks, a builder / turret and a DPS - and enjoyed playing all of them. The sheer variety, easy to learn mechanics and balance makes it ideal for casuals and short bursts - but I've heard the meta-game isn't quite as strong.

Had it for almost a year now, one of the best games I've ever played
Unlike Destiny, COD, Battlefield etc. every single update is free and they frequently balance the game's mechanics every 3-4 weeks so you never feel cheated by players doing annoying stuff.
It launched at about the same time as Battlefield 1. B1 has had 1 paid DLC update since then.
Overwatched has introduced 4 new character types, close to 15 new maps, over 5 new game modes and had close to 10 seasonal events which have exclusive play modes and one off unlockables.
Plus it cost me £25 then and it's the same price or less now

2 actually but yeah, it's a poor show...
It's probably my ailing reaction times but I still prefer Battlefield to these 12-men-in-a-box games. I got Titanfall 2 but regardless of the result, the default game modes become tedious very quickly. I do like the co-op PvE mode though - perhaps I should bend over to pick up Activision's Destiny 2 soap :stuck_out_tongue:
Heat for the heads up - it was a previous F2P weekend that helped me decide that this game wasn't for me
