"better than the redmi series" uh no, the Note 3 and 4 (snapdragon) beat the Mi5c and also cheaper

The Mi5c has no Global ROM< but multi-language and Google Play are stated which aren't in China ROM. Also it has no mention of OTA updates. This will be installed with an unofficial vendor ROM that won't get updates.

LOL!!!!!
how can it be better than the Redmi Note 4?
Redmi note 4 has b20 for a similar price you can get the 4gb ram 64gb storage (£155 presently on ali but always going on sale, wait a week generally retails at about £140) larger screen 4000mAh battery
I know which I would rather have.

My thoughts exactly. Voting cold for the pure comment alone (but also the fact that I purchased the Redmi Note 4 for the same price a few days ago).

Meant to be very buggy with their own processor.

Also no 3G 900 - those on o2 could find themselves with little or no signal often. My advice would be those on o2 network (i.e. inc. Tesco, giffgaff, etc.) avoid like the plague.

Why do people write 'Original' before Xiaomi? It's not like there would be a huge enthusiasm for someone to produce counterfeit Xiaomi phones...

Many sellers on AliExpress put 'Original' in the title to indicate it's the China market version as this is where it is originally released. Listings for 'Global Version' (not China market) do not include 'Original' in title.

you're joking right? The fake Xiaomi market is rife. Even for £2 earphones much to my annoyance!

I was not saying anything about fakes and no, I was not joking. Check the listings for the Xiaomi phones that have a Global Version from the same seller. For example the Redmi 4X: xiaomionline.aliexpress.com/sto…tml All of the ones which have the word "original" in the title are the non B20 China version, whereas the B20 Global Version does not state "original" in the title, which is what my comment is explaining.
"Original" can be taken by some people as an implication to authenticity but that is not the meaning of it, in Xiaomi phone titles, otherwise all Global Versions could be regarded as fakes. If it was to do with fakes, then 'official', 'authentic', 'genuine' would be more suitable since 'original' can also just refer to the first variant. E.g the original Redmi Note 4 Mediatek variant. Also I'm well aware of fakes being common in Xiaomi market, especially headphones<

Counterfeit handsets is a big problem for xiaomi. It's also easy to get fooled into buying fake power banks and mi bands. Original, however, usually refers to the Chinese version.

I remember once buying a Nokia N95 clone from China on eBay. The listing did not say it was a Nokia clone. PayPal refunded my money after two months and it was happy ending.

PayPal are quite good in that respect, especially if bought through eBay. I bought some software on eBay, which was clearly counterfeit. The seller wouldn't do anything til I reported it to eBay and offered the discs to be inspected. I had a refund in about half an hour.

I love my redmi note 4, got it for 137 and now I'm hooked on china phones. This seems to be not as good though, no band 20 forget O2 voda. My redmi global edition includes band 20 and although I'm fully on we for both Sims you never know. Planning to get a years use sell on eBay and get the note 5 from the same Ali seller I got my note 4 from .thank you hotukdeals for opening my eyes to these phones I will never pay more than 150 for a phone again

I fear some may disagree with me and I wish not to troll but best advice, buy nothing like mobile phones from china. Not because of the fake issues but because of the returns. While we have a trade agreement and both countries should abide by both of them, returning these things is not cheap. At least, that's why I will never order a phone or other high risk returnables from outside the UK unless there is a guaranteed returns process with full tracking, paid for by whomever is at fault, me if I drop it, the seller if they send me a broken or faulty one.

That's a fair point, and obviously your choice. But, for me, although I accept there are risks involved, the pros far outweigh the cons, so I'll keep buying from China.

I used to have that attitude too but after a pleasant experience from MC as long as you stay with the three resellers listed you 'should' be ok. You don't realise how much you are getting ripped off in the UK market 200 for a Sony Xperia xa1 with a crappy mediatech processor?!? No thanks. My M5 made me seasick and that was mediatech. One day a Chinese sale for me is going to go wrong but if all the others where ok then I accept that. Also if you pay 137 for a note 4 then it goes wrong after 1 year then you go buy a note 5 with some of the 800 you've saved buying a Samsung note 8. Only idiots pay fortunes for phones nowadays

This is the naming convention shared by many (if not all) of the Xiaomi phone resellers
