It depends, it was unique to certain ones, not something that affected them on. Either way, stick a glass protector on and your fine.

Tempting but I'm more inclined to wait for the Nyko Portable Docking kit. Much more portable. Good deal though so have some heat

Any idea when it will be available? I'm interested, thanks. The original is too big and bulky and with these smaller docks coming out these will have to go cheaper.
Just found this, it appears to be an alternate to the dock, not sure if any good though:
Nice find on that Amazon adapter. 3 Reviews says its decent. For 25 its worth a shot, if its no good we can send it back.

just so you are aware with the amazon one you need to use the original power adapter that came with the switch or purchase a 2nd so not really two docks just a smaller replacement for the original until bought another lead

Cheers.
I was just reading up on them. Apparently they aren't all that good. This Nyko one coming out looks the full package.

So far as I can tell so far it *might* be out at the end of next month in the US, haven't seen anyone offer it up for pre-order in the UK yet though =/
For the record those dockless adapters don't solve the problem of the switch's fan vents being on the back of the device, so you'd still have to carry a stand of some description or find a dubious way of propping it up.

When the switch came out I saw numerous reviews raising questions over the dock design. Maybe Nintendo have altered the design since release. I'm a Switch owner (two months) and have nothing but good things to say. I've had a glass screen protector on since day one (even without it I'm almost certain no harm would come of the switch - looking inside the dock I see no sharp edges etc). I've also never had the switch unintentionally lose connection with the dock. Or found joy con straps that hard to remove, mine coming on and off frequently for Mario Kart which I feel are essential for joy con play with a friend.
Hopefully if the dock continues to drop in price it will be a nice route to getting a second official charger quite cheaply. Bonus with the dock being there for a second tv.
Opening post
Previous best price was £58.99 (also Grainger Games)
