Yes, Toby deals again  About the same league as a Gopro 5, but almost half the price, and still a Nikon. 4k recording, 1080p/60fps, slightly better image quality than GP, slightly worse sound, slow motion, good still images, time lapse and even has a remote control. What I didn't like, and didn't pull the trigger in the end, is the wide-angle 170° fov giving a fisheye effect. I don't know if its possible to be corrected in post (any advice welcome).

Voted hot.
I've been considering this for the past 30 mins, but have decided not to pull the trigger. The Hero 6 is going to probably be announced tomorrow so I am hoping that the Hero 5 will drop in price. Although many have said the 6 will just slot into a higher price bracket and the 5 will stay the same price. I can hope though I guess. If it doesn't, I'd be torn between this Nikon and the hero 5 session.
The hero 5 is a better camera, although double the price as pointed out. If I knew I was going to take full advantage of the money spent on a hero 5, I would get that.

Reviews are not great on amazon.com Ignore amazon.co.uk as they are all paid for reviews.

Reading reviews it seems that the main issues are that the battery isn't great and that it's firmware needs improving. A deal breaker for some though may be that you can't record while leaving the camera plugged in. If recording a long continuous event you can't leave it connected to the power supply charger or an external battery with USB ports. Frustratingly this camera seems to have GoPro 5 well beaten on image quality. But GoPro has been in this game a long time and knows about batteries and firmware. Either Nikon will improve its firmware, including allowing things like recording while plugged in, or wait till the new one comes out

I wonder how this compares to the Xiaomi 4k Plus. It's a bit more expensive at about £200 but gets very good reviews.

The yi 4k+ is overall much superior camera (many reviews on yt), this one is more comparable to the yi 4k..imo I think these "action" cameras are way overpriced, so the decision depends on what's the use and what features you really need...
