Doesn't look 'self balancing' to me?

Yes , can't see how they would be able to make this self balancing, it would need some type of gyroscope ability. Looking at video it just looks like a normal motorized scooter. Good price an looks well made and very compact design.

Are these legal on public paths/cycleways in the U.K.?

Iirc neither are regular push scooters but no one bats an eyelid at those. Maybe just use the electric side sparingly?

I believe the kick scooters are legal in paths and cycleways, but because this is motorised and has no pedals it falls under the moped category. In other words you could be prosecuted for using one.
Thanks for the replies. In summary, no. They can go on roads if they have a valid certificate of conformity (unlikely) and you have it registered with the dvla, and you have moped insurance and a valid cbt. Guess that's another few hundred pounds on top of purchase price, so you may as well get a cheap moped instead after all that hassle.

Or an electric bike. I think they're exempt.
