I suspect we'll see a few reductions on 7th gen Kaby Lake motherboards now that 8th gen Coffee Lake is in the pipeline. Coffee Lake CPUs won't work with Kaby Lake motherboards, as they need a different chipset.

Ye I have to say not that impressed here I mean maybe if it were the z270 xpower T it would be worth considering but now with CFL so close only to be seeing only the z170's (two gen old) drop now is sad really, this is why they will end up with so much old stock they hold onto it for to long, the smart retailers will drop the z270's down around now on the run up to CFL in October, dumping as much of it as they can, now were on a new chipset, cpu, platform with no backward compatibility, your effectively asking for people to buy not only an old board but also an old cpu to go with it and for around the same cost as the new CFL, that's not gonna happen, yes ok sure some people already have kaby/sky lake but those who do so also already have a mobo for it.
Those trying to pawn off old z170's are wasting there time and should of thought of doing it nov/dec/last year and jan this year, in-fact even those trying to dump z270's now will have a hard job because again CFL will be priced very close and will be new and btr? I suppose but on top of that everyone's buying ryzen stuff so even those few people that are left and looking to jump to a platform it goes as follows #1- CFL, then #2- Ryzen then #3- the old z270's, retailers are in a bad spot here no doubt the longer they wait the harder it will be to dump z270 stock and unlike the last 8 years or so there has been no other competitive platform so old intel will not hold there value this time round, geez there having trouble holding there value new at the moment..
To look at it this way why buy this z170 mpower and an now old cpu vs an x370/b350 am4 board and newer high core, cheaper cpu, and get more bang for your buck?
Paired with a 1600 is higher core count, cheaper, newer, and has m2 straight to the cpu, against a z170 board it's a no brainer, against a z270 again not really a tough choice, retailers are in a tough spot this time round, no mans land for selling off old stock, they btr come up with something or there gonna have a lot of right-off's.

Not sure why this board is considered a deal...
