Great price for a great phone.
Only thing I hate about Lenovo is their lack of updates when a phone/tablet is a year old. Yes I know I can root blah blah blah but those ROMs usually have some issues.

Really? I have the Moto z play and the most important app for me (Barclays mobile banking) stopped working after the latest update, Barclays have said they don't support android versions this advanced yet. I wish their was less updates!

Think the Z's were fine. It's the G's that had issues. i.e. the G3 was never updated past Android 6. If you look at their tablets, the Tab 2 came out with Android 5 (I think) and was never updated, the Yoga tablets never updated etc.

Its Rare to have a removable battery but the G5 has one, carry a spare Hot
Take that with a pinch of salt, it's not an official Motorola site.
They also list the Moto G4, G4 Plus and G4 Play. None of which will be getting Oreo, (the G4 Plus will, following criticism in the media, but only the US variant). The UK variant of the G4 Play is still stuck on Marshmallow, despite their promise to release Nougat by the end of July.
Lenovo are not to be trusted when it comes to OS updates. However, I do expect that the G5 series will be updated to Oreo at some point, just don't expect any further updates.

My wife has the 3gb model, does anyone know if you can make calls over the WiFi with it? (She's with three and hates the three in touch app) If you can I can't figure out how.
No NFC and no digital compass. Very basic chipset and sluggish performance. Not the value many associate with Moto G series. G4 was better in my opinion.

I have a G5 Plus - buggy and camera problems, my wife has a G5 - buggy, a work colleague has a G5 - buggy. Lenovo have ballsed up the QA on Moto phones I think (I have had a Moto G4 Plus and an X Play with issues too). Used to be a Moto fan, but not going to get another one.

I suppose if its the cheapest price available, then why not post it? Motorola had dropped the price by £10 additionally to the code this time anyway

Looking at this thread, and others that I have read on here, regular updates appear to be an issue for Moto G phones. So, my question is...which phone of whatever make, gets regular updates to the next version of android?
