You need to buy two of them so 10.67 is misleading. You can buy a pair around 18 to 20 quid in lots of places, including Maolin if you are prepared to wait for a sale.

Use of a radio with 400-479MHz freqs requires getting a shared yearly business license from OFCOM. Only freq 446 is free for public use. I would guess the power output is no more than .5 watts. Nice little radio.
The larger models (UVR-5) give a power output of up to 5W, these have an output of 500mW - 1W. The larger models have a larger aerial. The larger models are more expensive. Also bear in mind that the legal power output for walkie-talkies in the UK is 500mW. You pays your money..... Brilliant price, heat added,

No They are rubbish. You have to program them & they can only be used on PMR at 500mw

They are not rubbish! They can be programmed to use the amateur band of 70cm, but you need the amateur radio licence. One thing I agree with, is that the supplied rubber duck is a joke. You will need to buy a better antenna, such as Nagoya, which will cost as much as the handheld itself.

They are rubbish. You cannot fit another Ariel to them. They can only be used on PMR unless you have a licence from Ofcom.

You clearly don't know what you are talking about. The range is 400-470 MHz. With the appropriate software (Chirp) they can be programmed to be used on the amateur bands, in which case you need an amateur radio licence. This has got nothing to do with PMR, which is a completely different licence. All Baofengs support other antenna. Nagoya makes after market longer antenna for all Baofeng models.

Coming from the man who thinks you can change the Ariel on this item I take it you know nothing. They are crap & that's a fact. Oh & BTW I am a licensed radio amateur & I expect I have forgotten more about radio than you have ever known.

Well, you were wrong on your statement that it cannot be used on the 70cm band, and that's a fact!

So you are saying all Baofeng are crap or just this one?
And are you saying the 70cm band cannot be programmed into this model? Any evidence? Reading the comments on Amazon about this model, it look it can. Any evidence of the opposite?

I stated clearly what I meant & was talking about. Now lets see how you are going to tell us you connect a new Ariel to this model of walkie talkie. I know you cant but I'm sure it will provide entertainment for many who read your made up cliams that have no foundation in truth.

Ok, so you're moving the goal post again. I did not object that the aerial (not Ariel) cannot be changed but I said that with external software this can be programmed on the 70cm band. You have not challenged this, therefore you admit you were wrong on this account. Thank you!

So, once again, no evidence from you that they can only be used on PMR. Fact!
And you still insist Baofengs are crap! Several millions of buyers around the world disagree with you!
