Just picked up a set, nice bright light, not too cool.
A 5-pack set similar to this has been posted here previously but they have been out of stock for a while now. These however are dimmable which is a nice surprise in case you want to add a dimmer switch in the future (or if you use one already). They also come with a 3-year warranty as opposed to 2 years.

This is a decent price for dimmable bulbs, although if you don't need dimmable, you can get cheaper per bulb ones elsewhere. Heat added for the dimmable factor !!!

Can you send a link for cheaper non-dimmable bulbs? I've had a good search and couldn't find any of equivalent brightness for less than £2.

Yeah, although I never mentioned anything about brightness, length, rated life, etc etc. A quick search of ebay ...... Cheaper and delivered. ebay.co.uk/itm…396 (select 6, warm white, BC)
Also, you can get lower wattage and same brightness (if you really want to save that extra few pence a year) ebay.co.uk/itm…384

You can get them at Home Bargains for less than £2. They have a variety Wattage with different prices. The lower the cheaper.

Maybe not a deal l but I bought these a while back and I'm happy with them.
I have the non-dimmable ones of these in warm white. Great colour light, no whine (that's genuinely a thing), no blown bulbs yet after 15 months. They take about 0.3s to turn on, which is "instant" so long as you don't have any faster bulbs like Philips right next to them! Recommended.

OK, but the dimmable ones are likely to have a completely different driver circuit.

Good price for the product but tech moves on. Now Xiaomi have got involved with smart lighting (Yeelight) the market could really expand. For instance I've got 4x 16 million colour smart Yeelight bulbs on order that have cost an average of 10 quid each. Voice control compatible, app compatible, endless colours and timings availalble remotely and can obviously be dimmed. Granted quite a bit more expensive than these but so much more interesting

Where are you getting 4 alexa compatible bulbs for £10 each?

Direct from China; there have been numerous deals posted on here over the last couple of weeks for the Xiaomi Yeelight bulbs which normally retail for 16ish quid pver there but with codes bringing them down to around 10 quid. Just put Yeelight in the search box. Most are now expired but they seem to come up regularly. Great thing about them is, unlike Hue bulbs, they require no bridge whatsoever. Great, cheap way to get into smart lighting...
The Ikea bulbs are 35W equivalent. The Screwfix ones claim 60W

Worth noting that dimmable LED bulbs need a trailing edge dimmer switch. May make more sense to fit a standard switch and get non-dimmable bulbs, as I will be for my grandparents house.

Can these be used with standard switches? Rather than dimmable? I've just bought 2 packs, and reading some of the comments I'm thinking they might not work with standard switches.

They will work, but you might get a little buzzing sound from the bulb.
