Waiting for Mate 10 with Kirin 970. The CPU in this phone is very poor

The CPU is not poor - it's a low to mid tier phone with a price to match. It's equivalent or better than the CPU found in phones like the Moto G (not Plus) range, for example.
And in terms of performance it's better than that found in the Honor 7 which was Honor's flagship 2 years ago.

How can you compare this with a £600 phone?

It won't sell for £600 . No one buys phones at RRP. But heard Kirin 970 is very good . Not like previous CPUs from Huawei.
Wonda mobile is selling Mate 9 for £407 including Vat

One website selling it for a better price doesn't mean anything.
Also, as has been said before, let's stop talking about a high-end phone on this thread as it has no link to this deal whatsoever.

Yeah, like you'd risk £400+ with the likes of them with zero UK warranty :unamused:
Find me a UK retail price with full warranty for less than £549: three.co.uk/hua…hly

You are wrong. I have this phone... Using for last 3 months. It's an excellent phone. Very fast, very fast fingers scanning, battery life excellent - one charge lasts approx 48 hours on moderate use. Only improvement I would have preferred is better camera. I also had Lenovo p2 which had better battery life, but this is smaller and lighter which I prefer. Heard a lot about honor 6x-better camera, might give this a try soon. I have never tried xiaomi redmi - I don't know if I should give this brand a try. Any comments?

CPU is far from poor. I have the Kirin 650 in my P9 Lite and its incredibly quick - likely due to Huawei doing very well optimising their UI. I'll take optimisation over raw (wasted) power because of an unoptimised UI. Basically the mistake Samsung had been making for years, but improved with the S8.

Interesting , so only differences between this and P10 lite are the Processor Kirin 655 vs 658 and RAM 3GB vs 4GB
What have i missed?

The 16GB vs 32GB storage, and the EMUI/OS version.

Not bad considering the price difference....though i have feeling the camera might be sub-par at this price point...something has to give i suppose.

Wifi seems to include wifi ac on 10 lite and not 8 lite. Gyro. Fast charging. Cameras might be better on the 10 lite.

To be honest it's not really the case, they are pretty much neck and neck

I have the previous model of the Huawei P8 Lite 2015 and the phone has been fine BUT the biggest problem is the battery life. With Bluetooth and Wifi enabled it now struggles to make it through the day. To replace the battery takes some skill and is best done by a phone repair shop as it is fiddly. This phone cost me £79.99 at carphone warehouse and to be honest i feel 100% increase in cost is not justified but dont get me started on iphone costs and as long as the mugs keep buying them they will not get cheaper and its on the back of these inflated prices that the likes of Huawei have bumped up their prices and of course the networks who want to leg everyone up with contracts. How can a phone cost twice or 3 times the price of a laptop, its absolutely ridiculous in my opinion.

Iirc, the battery in the P10 lite is different type to the p8 lite. Having said that, the battery in my honor 7 was only marginally worse after 2 years of having it, so should be OK

Totally agree, Dyson did the same with vacuum cleaners.

Yeah I got one too on that deal , not really used the camera yet , stepped up from p9 lite for the extra ram /ROM plus fast charge function and android 7 very happy and got £100 for the p9 lite so basically cost me £99 net only downside is csr racing 2 will not load on new phone so lots of emails hassle trying to get my profile back other than that it's a great handset and the case was less than a fiver on e bay

Just be aware this version is not dual sim according to the cpw website and a few of there reviews. Pity as I'd be all over it at this price if it was dual sim. Unless someone can correct me?
