HP Laptop, Printer, Accessories Bundle £250, Free Delivery @Currys Online
I'm not even sure this is a deal or not. I'll let the temperature decide.
It's a £250 & Brand New, plus Printer that meant for Social use. That's the type of laptops this should be compared against in terms of value for money. Not a million pound Alienware laptop

Looks good value until you read the review comments. "Very slow" is the main comment; I'm a bit surprised because although the CPU is carp, I'd have thought that the 64GB solid state disk would have helped. Perhaps the reviewers hadn't completed Windows updates and/or first AV scan?
I agree, but then I thought to myself. Do you think the £130 price drop, compensates for the slow processing power?
I've actually posted this deal because my brother needs a laptop & printer for his birthday. His wife's budget is £250. And he only needs it for accessing works emails and general browsing.

For basic things like internet browsing & watching movies it's ok, and considering an extra printer in this deal i'm sure it will suit some people out there

I'm afraid I disagree. I have an acer usff connected to my tv with this spec. It's so poor it can't run av as well as kodi. Unbelievably useless. Kodi uses no resource and av is cloud based so also uses nowt. Terrible terrible cpu. Don't waste your money. If u need web and email you're better off getting a tablet.
Only 988. That puts it close to the Core2Duo's of 2005.
To put this into perspective. My z3770 ranks 1241 and you can barely keep 20 tabs open in FFx and it's goes sluggish more often than not. cpubenchmark.net/cpu…GHz. i3's sold at around the same prices without the extra's range in the more acceptable 2000's

eMMC is not SSD. Both are solid state though.

Oh I remember this deal! Currys keep trying to push it, but it's pretty bad. You can get better laptops for £200, especially something like a used thinkpad. You then have £50 spare to buy the £30 printer bundled with this, the £10 headphones and £10 laptop case.
The only way this is a good deal is if you think the laptop is worth £400 new.

Recommend me a laptop for £200 and I'd appreciate that. Needs to not have a number pad and 14 or 15". The rest I'll leave you you
Then a little money on an SSD wouldn't go amiss. If it has to be 14-15" instead of something like 12" then the T420, T430 are good options. There will also be some Dell Latitudes that fit the bill.

Agree. I had the HP 11 Stream and it was so rubbish. I bought it to take to the gym but by the time it was up and running (as had dropbox and Google Drive on a SD card) it was time to go! Much better with a Chromebook or the exact model you recommended. As an alternative I've just picked up a 2010 white MacBook for £190 on Ebay and upgraded it with SSD. Basically for your own sanity don't but anything with eMMC!

It is pretty much unusable unless you have all the time in the world to wait for it to do 1 task at a time.

For £200 I'd prefer a second hand laptop and replace the HDD with an SSD when I'd next got the funds.
