Might want to alter the title mate before it upsets someone and possibly makes them £16 lighter. The only way to obtain a GTA V Steam key is from Steam

Some confusion here I think:
The Steam Version:- You have to load Steam to use it. It will still use the Social Club launcher, your in-game friends list will still be the Social Club friends list.
The Social Club only version:- You load it with or without Steam. Your friends list is in the social club.
The only REAL differences are you need to load steam and you have steam achievements available. Everything else is handled via the Rockstar Social Club.

That is confusing. So, if I bought this I could open through Steam but everything will route through Social Club, if I buy direct from Steam it still opens through Social Club but there would be achievements? I don't really care about the achievements so I'm pretty tempted now. This is probably the cheapest I have seen this. Thanks

As per previous post, the difference (ignoring the useless achievements) is that your Steam friends can't join your game directly from Steam, instead they find you using the R* Social Club, which the whole population of GTA relies upon.
There's no reason to purchase the Steam version IMO if it's a higher price. This can be added to your library as a non-Steam game.
Take a look at the realism based mods if you're not familiar, some of the texture packs are insane:
It doesn't say Steam key in the DRM bit on the right - it's a Rockstar Social key so your title is misleading.

What's the difference? (Excuse my ignorance)

This way it is only one DRM ... the Steam version has Steam DRM + Rockstar, but for some reason people seem to like having all games on Steam ...
Easy thing to do is get this version and then just add a game to Steam if you want to launch it from there and use the overlay, etc.

No Steam achievements with this version and other Steam-specific account features like steam overlay.

Only 3 quid less than i paid back in 2015 but they do add content to the game quite often. Anyway thanks Hoff as just bought a second copy- didn't buy the shark pack as previously hackers have always dropped millions of cash around so will pick that up and buy a flat etc

So , which is better this or Titanfall .. I quite liked this when it was the top down version (not a sports car) and the reviews seem consistently good.
