Very cunning - kids are back at school so the take up will not be great

Indeed, you'd think Mr & Mrs Dahl would have thought ahead when they procreated.......

reckon its more about people who run the museum. If they really wanted to get people in, they could have done this over a week or last week....
good for locals maybe who can go there right after the school for kids. "offer" does look like tight fisted.

It's linked to national roald Dahl day which is the great mans birthday. Would love to take the trip to this one day but in the meantime sweet shop that inspired many a story time is only a stones throw from my house in llandaff ( although currently a Chinese takeaway)

It's in Great Missenden in the Chiltern Hills for anyone who is interested.

It's free for 2 hours, why do they even bother with the offer? Tight fisted B's

The museum is quite small and easily doable in 2 hours. Seems the only tight-fisted one is the HUKD user that doesn't want to pay anything and expects things to be free?

If I could like this a thousand times I would. Top comment.

You could, just create 1000 hukd accounts and like it with each one.

Since this was placed in the Freebies section why shouldn't "the HUKD user" expect it to be free?

You miss the point. It is free, they just want more "freeness". The implication on my part being that they should be grateful for any free time, rather than saying the museum is tight-fisted for not giving more free time.

What planet are you from? Are you a native English speaker? Someone has posted an offer and provided very specific conditions of the offer. Why do you feel the deal is not free?

I'm not complaining for my benefit. But, why can't they open all day for free, not just for two hours? If people know it's going to be free for only two hours, they are likely to visit during those hours and the small museum is likely to be overcrowded (relative term). Opening all day, would spend the load.
Yes, I'm proud to be tight fisted. That's why I joined this website  Everyone should enjoy a jolly good fisting, once it a well

How long would you plan to stay in a small museum?

Seems a good deal but don't forget as with all good tours it'll end at the gift shop :raised_hand: . Heat from me though.

Actually the way out is through a main gate and not the gift shop and, as far as I know, there is no tour. ;-)

It is a lovely museum, small but interesting. worth visiting even when you have to buy the tickets.
