Wished the combat was either full hack and slash or turn based or a mix of dragon age inquisition (nice hybrid).
What they made in 15 was odd and is the only thing that puts me off playing. even bought the game for a tenner.

I didn't like the combat to start with but it grew on me... As you meet tougher foes, "hold circle" won't work and you'll be forced to block and wait for openings. Also, the "free" libre during wait mode proves very useful for tayloring your attacks / spells for the foes at hand.
The story was OK, some of the scenery incredible and the music was brilliant. The protagonists on the other hand were an unlikable reject K-Pop band with as much charisma as Michael Gove :poop:

I just wish the combat wasn't all about your ai team being in the right place. I'd rather be able to swap between characters free pause the game and take a technical approach. Very much like dragon age inquisition.
I'll get around to playing it properly down the line.

Yeah, something like KOTOR would have been better - auto action but able to pause the action to queue commands. TBH, I found the team to be mostly useless - just give them the best gear for the current battle and hope they do a little damage for you. If you haven't played much, try to get Ignis' "Regroup" skill ASAP - when they (or you) get in a bit of trouble, you can pull them all out of harm's way, grant them some bonus attributes and create an opportunity to heal the group.

It's a shame the team don't really do much. The game looks great and promising. But sadly it doesn't shine where it needs too.
It's them reinventing the wheel each game they make.

Over 80% on metacritic but each to their own. Like music, games are always down to personal taste.

Good price. Currently slow playing it on Xbox One and I'm enjoying it. For anybody with a passion for physical media. The Day One Edition is £20 on Amazon.

The story also makes little sense. There are a lot of elements that are glossed over. The "bro time" element of the game is pretty fun, though.

Yeah but that was a pricing error and it didn't stay that price for very long

I bought this on the psn deals of christmas last year for £35 and have barely touched it! I should stop buying games but we are all in the same boat  I should start to worry when I'm buying consoles and not playing them

I got it then too, however I forced myself to complete it, kept thinking it would get better, but it didn't, if anything got much worse, by the end becoming a Dragon Ball Z rip off.

Haha in that case I'll let it sit there a little longer, I'm terrible for buying stuff and not playing. Just started Xenoblade Chronicles 3d 2 years after buying it on launch day!

Hated this at first but it's a grower. In all honesty it's a deeply flawed game - the combat is a mess and the storytelling is pretty bad - and yet in spite of this I've still sunk 50+ hours into it. There's just something about it.

Really loved this game! Can't wait for the multiplayer expansion Comrades which releases on the 31st October.

Just like the LegunaLoire, the game grew on me and I love it despite it being a bit of a mess. Managed to sink more than 80 hours into it. Worth it at this price

Plays terribly.
Effortlessly dull.
