Seen this today instore in screwfix.Part of new catalogue change.Great piece of kit for price, includes 2 amp batteries. If you were to buy 2 batteries on own would cost more than this.Warranty upto 3 years too.Cant go wrong with this deal imo.

The ITS offer (which I went with) was a better spec dewalt driver DCF887 which came with a 2amp & 5amp battery included. Its a seriously powerful bit of kit for just a tad more....

The DCF887 is an impact driver, this is a hammer drill so they are two different things.
Also the ITS offer comes with a 2Ah and a 4Ah battery not a 5Ah one.
I agree they are brilliant though as I have one along with a DCD996.

Absolutely correct and I'm sorry for the incorrect comment. I misread the title!

what's the difference between an impact drill and a hammer drill? thought it was same thing
Impact Driver, applies rotational force to drive home long screws/fixings.
Hammer/Combi Drill ;
Can't find a diagram as above, but applies force towards the material your drilling into, hence the 'hammer' terminology.

You can get a dewalt 5ah battery for £58, so two for £116. So not sure where your buying your 3ah ones from but your paying too much. Think the drill looks nice though

Where do you get dewalt 5 ah batteries for £58? There £125 each with screwfix
SAW this also today and thought it was an okay deal, but not worthy of posting here as the price can be bettered.

Okay but not great. Good starter kit, though.

Looks like a cheap version. There is no light on the base and the silver rings from the metal gearbox aren't there. States metal gears but doesn't say if the gearbox is. Does anyone know if it's metal or Plastic? Deal seems resonable though.

As an electrician with a pretty much complete dewalt xr collection i would have this as high end DIY. Hot.

Could this be a Screwfix/B&Q special?
Information is very vague online and theres is no other UK retailers stocking this it seems (admittedly after a very quick search), furthermore the batteries don't look like normal Dewalt XR batteries, possibly a design change...?

Doesn't look like the high quality 18v dewalts, I also think this is a cheapo special made up drill.
Dunno how true this is but I've heard 18v will go extinct as the technology of 14.4v motors are getting that good they equal or can out perform a 18v drill with less weight and more efficient battery usage.
