Now sold out on Groupon and expired by Costco. Any vouchers bought will be honoured in warehouse

I went in today.
They said I didn't meet the Groupon requirements. They made me in to a individual member. I still got the freebies. Well worth going. If you do try and go in the cafe without your card they check at Gateshead store.

Cant seem to get the LOVEAPP code to work? is it still working? do I need to put it in the checkout section? or is there more to this? Any other codes?

I signed up for this today. For £28 you get membership for 2 people, a £14 voucher, a rotisserie chicken (£3.29), a pack of 48 AAA batteries (£8.99), & a HUGE chocolate fudge cake (£9.99) so if you want those things it's definitely worth it.

Signed up today, didn’t qualify for the individual membership, went for the trade one - they refunded the difference between individual and trade membership on the spot - which was 7.20 quid. Had paid 18 for the groupon so this made it 10.80 - and then used the 14 gbp voucher in the shop along with the freebies. Got 6 GBP via grpupon to refer a friend (myself) and 1.20 TcB - all of the maths done this worked out to roughly 26 quid back and a year of membership - can’t complain at all, can I.

If u had a Costco membership years ago and you have a different address to old membership, you can use the Groupon deal as it is classed as a new account when rejoining if anyone was wondering

Got cake, whole cooked chicken and 48 AA batteries total cost nearly £24 all for free!
I also still have the £14 voucher to spend on anything they gave me to use before end of November. My unleaded petrol was 5p a litre lessthan anywhere else within 20 miles.
I agree the the shop is no cheaper than elsewhere, but for all the freebies, voucher and cheap petrol for 12 months this deal is fab.

Any loopholes that would allow someone to activate there membership without working in one of the required industries/positions?

Interesting what people are saying about the fuel; last time I filled up it caused my car to idle much lower than usual (around 5-600rpm). This was the first and the last time I put their fuel in. Might have just been a coincidence, but after I put my regular BP fuel in, it was totally fine again.
Might have just been a bad batch but not worth the risk again. :raised_hand:

Says not yet available? Did anyone manage to get this deal or know of any similar offers? At 6p a litre cheaper than anywhere else I’m joining just for fuel.

Which is better - Costco or makro

I've been an individual member of Costco for quite a few years now and found them very useful with savings on certain items as others mentioned above.

I upgraded to the Executive Membership which gives 2% back on purchases (you get a Costco cheque for the cashback amount once each year). It might be worth considering this upgrade IF you will spend over £2000 per year with them - as it has an additional cost (e.g. individual member: ordinary = £28+VAT = £33.60; executive = £62+VAT = £74.40 = £40.80 inv VAT extra per year).

My son has an additional card and as he is currently in the US, he can use it there without any problems.

Aside from the return policy and the savings on specific items that others have mentioned in previous posts, I find the meat and fish at Costco very good - not the cheapest but much better quality than you get in most supermarkets.

Costco is absolutely worth it for me. It's not just about food, they sell just about anything. Some of the stuff is just not available anywhere else and Kirkland and own brand stuff is good quality. Be selective what you buy and save a fortune.

Not only that, but the trick is to get a group of maybe 4 families to contribute to a membership and one person joins everyone else goes along as a guest. Membership costs just a few quid then.

Just from the top of my head products cheaper or occasionally cheaper at Costco comparing to other supermarkets. Not mentioning excellent quality of their meat

I have been a Costco member for many years and the deal is good but costco is not for everyone. The offers every month are sometimes very good and the price of toilet rolls, kitchen rolls and kleenex when on offer, as currently can't easily be beaten on price. I like others live close to Lakeside and so get the cheap fuel. The birthday cakes are excellent value. Another thing you can use your card in overseas Costco which comes in useful when we visit the U.S.A. . As with non food items if you check prices on your phone when there with Amazon I would say the majority of the time Costco is cheaper and Costco returns policy is very good. Some of the regular food items are similar prices to elsewhere and so it is not the place if just food shopping is what you go for.

Worth it just for the bog roll @ about 43p per roll (and before anyone says you can get cheaper, these are 240 sheets per roll). 41p in Asda (on offer), but only for 180-200 per roll.

Rotisserie chickens are exceptional value too.... and as long as you don't live in the South (except near Bristol/Thurrock) saving 6p per litre on fuel also pays for itself.

..and you get WW membership - useful if you're going to the US.

I have membership - definitely not worth it for their regular prices on most things (a few things are cheap; bottled water and water softener tablets, plus a few things the kids love that you don't find elsewhere).

What can be worthwhile is their leaflet deals on things like Andrex from today - typically we stock up on those types of things, plus kids birthday cakes and massive packs of stuff if you're entertaining.

Wines can be cheap sometimes (Campo Viejo Gran Reserva for example from time to time).

No fililng stations in London - area unfortunately.

Great deal, but well annoyed with the Groupon RRP £72.31 price.... Have they added the cost of how much the Rotisserie Chicken, Batteries and Cake would be if sold separately?

If you are just ordering product online, you don't need to be a member, just pay the 5% non member surcharge or pay £15 including VAT for 12 months online ordering.

Agree with previous posters, Petrol Station is a winner, pity they havant built one at Watford yet. I used to enjoy stocking up at Costco but agree again with previous posters times have changed, Amazon and all manner of delivery services for food have made it less appealing. I reckon eventually Amazon or another big player will acquire Costco and use them as local distribution centres.

This offer is nice and the freebies are a nice touch. £28 is a good price, however as hashman previously commented... it's not necessarily worth it.

If you've got a business (or buy for a business) then it might be worth it to buy large quantities.
However for casual shoppers like me you'll just end up with too much of one thing, unless you have a large family.

With the likes of lidl/aldi (food/toiletries)....b&m/home bargains (drinks/branded discount)... Amazon /AO(household goods incl electronics)...etc is Costco even worth it?
