Bought this 48hrs ago and loving it. Played 250hrs+ on Civ5, but this seems to have gotten a lot of stick but I am really enjoying it....... just one more turn.

New Civs always seem to draw criticism from certain quarters, despite pretty much always being exellent games.

Never played one before - consensus seems to be that Civ 5 is better but needs all its add ons? This seems a decent price, just not sure after reading steam reviews

I think, if you haven't played a Civ game before, go for the cheaper Civ 5 with dlcs. But if you dont mind spending £20, I actually like Civ 6 better as it's a better base game than Civ 5. If you have people to play with to teach you and to have a laid back match then you will have a slightly better time with Civ 6 as its a bit more complex than Civ 5.

This is an excellent price, since the Steam Workshop content makes this and 5 endless fun for years to come

Yeah if you get Civ 5 definitely get the complete edition, the base game alone was kind of weak. I'm holding off on 6 until they do a complete edition for that as well given how mixed reviews have been but given you can get Civ 5 complete on offer for about £8 I'd go for that one over this for someone new to the series, you'll for sure get great value out of it if you're into strategy games.

Anyone able to get 5% off code working? Even though I enter the right code it doesn't seem to work.

Currently conquering the world with Rome in Civ V. Think I'll wait another couple of years until can get the entire refined package for £10 like I did with V. I'm a patient gamer.

Nope, never stepped foot inside a Cex. I don't game like I used to. Only played Fallout 3 and New Vegas, Skyrim, Civ V and the Portal games in the last 7 years.

Good price! Be warned though, like all other Civ games before it - this will turn 1 hour of "just a quick game" into 4 hours followed by "why is the sun coming up?".
Just. One. More. Turn.

All the base CIV games have been superb and far too addictive - I found all the off-shoots sub-par. CIV 6 is up there with the best of them. The game engine and balancing is better than in CIV 5. Also as there are more options and strategic choices to make, Ie a settler is no longer for ever just a few turns so there are important game influencing choices at each turn.

Finally going to bite on this! Love Civ 5. Anyone know if the Diplomacy etc. is any better than 5? That was one of the main things that annoyed me about 5.
