Brita Maxtra Catridges 3 Pack £4 @ Tesco in-store only (deal link for illustrative purposes). Cheapest I have seen them but as the cartridges are a reduced to clear item it will be subject to availability in the stores that have them...had a printed label on edge of shelf and asked a member of staff and they said it should be a national price not store specific....however would not go running off to Tesco specifically for these but if you happen to be in a Tesco there's no harm in checking to see if they have them.
In response to question below saw this in the Lerwick store.
With a simple click function, BRITA® MAXTRA water filter cartridges are easy to change, 100% recyclable and last for up to 4 weeks.
Supplied in a pack of 3.

Put such a long description but still missed the vital point: which store?

Sorry about that but on the plus side at least I tried to make an effort
It was the Lerwick store but I must admit as the staff member I spoke to said it should be national I didn't see the need to specify the specific store but you live & learn

Let me know if you change your mind and I'll pop the kettle on and have some freshly made home bakes ready...actually when I think about it if you decide to make the trip I think you'd possibly need something stronger than a cuppa to help you recover :joy:

Having done that ferry journey from Aberdeen I would quite certainly need something stronger than a cup of tea!

So know where you are coming from as it isn't exactly a luxury cruise at any stretch of the imagination especially if you are one of the worst sailors in the world like me and it's more of an endurance than a pleasure...lol....
But if it helps you out any we'll call it an open invitation...just as and when

It's because these are the old version so stores will be clearing them. The new Maxtra+ is interchangeable with the old Maxtra but is claimed to be bettet in some way. Good deal if any stores still have the old stock.

except it isn't it's just more expensive I needed new filters and got suckered into paying full price on 3 (3.33 a filter vs 2 or less with the old ones on sale) it's just a cash grab. Considering switching - brita is a bad company

Not used the new ones, always aim for £1ish a filter, haven't bought any in about 3 years since my stock up when Tesco had them half price while a clubcard boost was on.
Brita customer service is very good, had various replacement parts sent for free. They'll replace anything as long as it's still manufactured, though that's in their interest, flog more of the overpriced filters by sending you a replacement part which costs only pennies to make.

It isn't any better.
Same filter, different packing.
I've just switched from "old" to "new". No difference in taste at all.
