Anyone know what these machine's fastest spin speed is when using the quick wash setting ? We use quick washes 90% of the time as our clothes are rarely more than lightly soiled before washing but I'm getting fed up with the number of current fast spin washing machines I've checked that won't allow you to set anywhere near the maximum spin speed on a quick wash.
danston to Robbo11
12 Sep 17#55
We've got the 8kg model of this and the max rpm is 1200 on quick wash setting. (15 or 30 minute cycle.)
FWIW, the better half is very happy with this machine (we paid £400 from Curry's PC World three weeks ago  ).
Robbo11 to danston
13 Sep 17#61
Thanks for that. 1200 rpm is pretty decent compared to some I've checked out. I haven't a clue why a lot of machines can't be set to spin at, or very close to, their fastest spin speed during a quick wash cycle because the drier they come out, the less time they need in the tumble dryer on the days when you can't hang them outside.

We’ll unpack your product and dispose of the packaging for you. Before we leave, we'll make sure you're happy with the work we have done. This is on my invoice... I guess I had the £34.99 taken off the installation fee and rapid delivery, even though I didn't click either of them. I don't think mine will be installed, but rather unpacked instead. If you want installation and rapid delivery, Currys will add £34.99 to the invoice and then remove it at checkout. I purchased the 7kg one..

Stupid question:
I've got the 7kg in my basket and want to know whether I need to check the Washing Machine and Washer Dryer Installation £25 button (given that I require installation)?
I ask because without checking that box the summary still says "Free installation and delivery on Bosch freestanding large kitchen appliances over £349" and the total is £264.01
My concern is that I'll be paying £25 extra for something that should/may be included with the offer
Thanks, P

That makes sense...very blocked waste pipes too, but assumed that was a problem with our house (very shallow outlet pipes to the drain)
So what - use powder only, or is there anything better?
.MUFC. to avid.fan
11 Sep 17#43
100% liquid at fault, I would use powder only, A little vanish can help too ( wash performance/stains ).
Also make sure you do a 90c wash occasionally, It helps clean the washer and kill the bactaria in the washer and waste pipes.
I often do an empty cycle 90c wash, Chuck a bit of bleach in and it keeps it nice and clean. You could put a bit of bicarbonate of soda and white vinegar in if you preferred.
I've never had any problems using powder baring the draw clogging up a bit Just washout occasionally . You could use tablets but I find they often don't perform as well as regular powder. We use Surf but any powder brand should be fine.

The 8kg one is mighty tempting; current Bosch has served me well for 10 yrs or so, but I've recently had problems where some gunk from internal pipework has loosened off and dropped into the wash, putting grey smears over clothes.
I've done a deep clean of machine with soda crystals at 90 degrees (empty cylinder) but don't know what else can be done to remedy it (?)
patti to avid.fan
11 Sep 17#33
Have you tried a really hot wash with only white vinegar in drum? I would use a lot of vinegar. You can probably use normal brown vinegar if you have not got white.
avid.fan to patti
11 Sep 17#34
No, had been recommended doing similar but with just soda crystals....works for a few weeks then the same again happens - I figured it was just general age and buildup of limescale scum in the pipework rather than in the drum specifically.
patti to avid.fan
11 Sep 17#35
But the vinegar on a hot wash will shift the scale more than soda. Or in home Bargains is washing machine cleaner or Killrot does washing machine cleaner that descales coffee machines as well.

sorry just re read your post and you said it's in pipe work. So what I wrote won't make any difference.
.MUFC. to avid.fan
11 Sep 17#37
Do you use liquid detergent as that clogs machines up?
avid.fan to .MUFC.
11 Sep 17#38
I do...didn't know that - presumably better if you put it direct in the drum then?
.MUFC. to avid.fan
11 Sep 17#39
Liquid is very bad for the waste pipes, It will clog them all up. Stop using it, Should be banned from sale imo.
It's the bacteria that builds up, Can also make your washing machine smell funny.

Still not getting it (sorry). I'm at check out and I've got 349, with BOSCH10 I get the 34.99 but it then adds 25 quid back on for installation. So effectively 339.01 not 314.01. I've tried not ticking the installation box but it didn't auto add it when you enter the code so no confidence it's included.
