What's the benefit of getting titanium ones? I bought a makita set thinking it to be a reputable brand but the bits wore out before the screws. Any other types/materials which last longer

I've got a Makita set. Wasn't expensive but I thought the brand might have some quality standard. Nope - you just get what you pay for as always. It's just cheap junk despite the name.

Decent basic set, wood and masonry are good just don't expect to drill into sheet metal without snapping a few of the others on the way!

Not the drills no. Don't see why the bits wouldn't be?

Get proper impact rated bits. Wera do some nice ones but not cheap. Milwaukee shock wave are very good and reasonable prices. Dewalt xtreme aren't bad either.

Good rule of buying tools. Get quality things of the stuff you'll actually need. Not huge bargain sets 80% of which you won't need or use.

Cheap tools can be good on some jobs to avoid wreaking your good ones.

Has anyone actually used this set rather than offering opinions

I have this set and has been really useful with standard DIY stuff. Moved house recently and has come in handy having one case to carry for most jobs. The saw attachments were a godsend when we had to route cables through kitchen units.
