Looking around for a formal pair of leather shoes for my son & came across these Ben Sherman Men’s Leather Adair Derbys for £36.17 at Amazon & he quite liked the look of them as they are very plain, noticed that they have a code (NEW17) on site for 20% off New In Fashion / Shoes which worked on these to take them down to £28.94 Delivered.
As I said before, the section that the code seems to work on includes 1000's of items from across Men's / Women's / Kid's clothing, shoes & accessories with many top brands features, so even if these don't float your boat, then there are lots more bargains to be had. Not a fan of a moulded sole, but I suppose it's a good price for an 80's brand.

Have SportsDirect taken over Ben Sherman brand?

The Derby shoes look quite thin...taking a gamble though. Amazon are pretty decent with returns via Collect+.
I'll find out for you next week when I get my shoes.

The real Ben Sherman doesn't exist anymore, bought and ripped apart for profit by so-called 'investors'.. The shoes were never Ben Sherman anyway, that was run by someone else, they just paid for the name. How do I know you might ask?, I worked for Ben Sherman until it closed. The name is now franchised to someone else for x years, then it goes to the highest able bidder again after that. Sad such an iconic British brand went down the pan. No idea if Sport Direct runs this name now.

Can anyone recommend a good source/make for black Oxford shoes? (the suppliers on Amazon have very mixed reviews)

This is where I get my formal shoes from, very well made.
Loake's find in Debenhams and Amazon. Not cheap. Watch out for Deb's sale.

Derbys are old hat, Oxford, s are timeless but still gives a certain impression.
Nobody knows what make you are wearing, whether Ben Sherman or Ben Dover!

I bought these last time they were on offer via HUKD. They fell apart. It's an OK shoe for £25, but if you want a £50 shoe, my advice would be to buy a proper £50 Shoe.

My Derby pair arrived today. Nice presentation box with drawstring bags for the shoes but the shoes themselves leave a lot to be desire. If I got them for £40+, I'd return them instantly.
They fit as expected but they feel very lightweight and the stitching around the heel area is awful. It also doesn't help that the front bit is flimsy so every step you can feel the shoe pushing inwards. It makes a squishy noise too if you walk too fast.
Maybe they need to be worn a few times but I'm thinking of returning them.

Ew, why would you put a tag on the front of the shoe like that
