How’s the spec for this? Ok for Netflix and Lego games?

Would have snapped this up if it wasn't for the 800p screen.

The resolution isnt really an issue for smaller screens plus it drains more battery life, i can sit and watch 480p all day on mobile without resolution been a problem, higher resolution is made for bigger screens
adamspencer95 to UltimatePhoenix
27 Sep 17#21
true, and netflix is capped at 480p anyway if that's what people intend to use it for
youtube and other web/local files are obviously not limited in the same way
UltimatePhoenix to adamspencer95
27 Sep 17#22
Even so, its not much of a difference on a small screen, i went from 32" SD to HD and went WOW at the resolution, but on a mobile I never really saw a difference

I dunno, it depends what you're doing. One of the main things I want a large tablet for is reading comics and, for things like that, I notice a drop from 1080p to 720p on a phone.

Does anyone own this and previously had a hudl 2? how do they compare apart from the 8.3" vs 10.1" screen. My Hudl 2 died on me few weeks ago so considering this as a replacement.
Steve.Mac to mrT786
27 Sep 17#13
Mrs Mac has a HUDL 2 and it's faster and full HD compared to this (which I have). It's decent for what it is but it feels a bit more budget than the HUDL 2, probably because the HUDL 2 had advanced spec for its time.

Bought one off argos ebay for £65 . said refurb , but was new .
I use it for when my little boy is in the hospitals .
Works well, I stick a load of films on a 64gb sd card , there is no lag, plus put loads of games on it for him, the wi-fi is good on it as well . I bought a case which turns into a stand, and he's well happy , battery lasts about 10 hours .

Have this, screen is not great, not incredibly responseive, but for the dough and screen size, it's grand.
I have had this for approx 3/4 months now. I had no issues until last week. Started off with flickering light on one part of the screen... now the whole screen blinks, flashes and moves.

Yeah I got one in the end, looks very good value at that price. Using it primarily to watch videos.
I had been tempted to get a Notepro 12.2 which Smartfonestore have for £220 or so, grade B, but it's 3 years old now and stuck on android 5.1, I think this Tab A is a better buy overrall. (Price mainly) and hopefully it's just a 'return'.
EDIT... Just seen they have Galaxy Tab 10.1 grade B's for only £109, didn't see that earlier.
Noticed that there’s also some Samung S8 & S8+ devices at £540 & £605 which seem good value in comparison to the current deals

Also had S7 Edge for £300 I think. Do have some decent offers on there at the moment, I was tempted to get the Sony Bluetooth Dab Hifi for £50, but I currently live in a box room so too darn big. :-)

Ive had x 3 of these plus a yoga model all returned because the charging ports break .My 2 kids lasted 6/7 mths & my 2 only 4 mths. Argos in Bicester wanted to return my first one for repair which would of took 2 /3 wks , I had to really put my foot down to get an exchange & only after I shown them my rights that if less than 6 mths old I was entitled to a exchange did they buckle & change it. The yoga I took to Milton Keynes ,no argument, but then I took my kids 2 back to Bicester I got the jobsworth she put the charger in said it was OK & only because I could not wipe them clean as they need 50% charge to do so did they change them.

As someone who bought one of these in May and has now had to buy a Samsung Tab A to replace it, be aware how slow this is and how poor the screen is (it glitches out a high brightness now). It's ok for the price, but beware what you're getting.

It's 7.0 on my Galaxy Tab A 10.1, just checked if further update at the moment, but no.
Really impressed with this for £125. Its definitely better than I thought it would be, browsing is smooth and reasonably fast, the speakers are pretty good, and the battery life seems excellent (currently have 30% left after 10.5 hours screen on time, mainly streaming video).
I recently had a Z4 tablet which had cost me £300, but I returned it as not really worth that much now. The Galaxy Tab is not quite as good, but close enough for the money I have saved.
