Just picked one up, decent price for 27 inch monitor in FHD. Has speakers built-in and generally positive reviews on the net. Price seems mixed online, ebuyer also stocking at same price. Others charging up to £200.

According to the Amazon listing for the same item, yes. But don't shoot the messenger.

All FreeSync compatible monitors have DP.

Hot, even for 1080p because it's freesync.

Freesync is FREE, Dude. It is even being added to new televisions at no cost for future playstation tech, and A.M.D. gpu's, of course.

Not necessarily, my Freesync monitor still costs £80 than the non freesync model.

Is it the GF7 or the GF6?
The text underneath on the Argos page says GF6 (and the image above from Amazon also says GF6)

Is there such a thing as the GF7? Acer's website only lists the GF6: acer.com/ac/…tor
That's incorrect, there are several Freesync over HDMI models that don't have displayport, such as the Dell S2418HN.
Assuming this is the GF276 then it has DisplayPort, HDMI and VGA, although Acer's website doesn't specify whether Freesync works over HDMI or DisplayPort.

Bought it yesterday - yes it has displayport. Taking it back though - too big a brightness difference between top and bottom of screen for me - and fuzzy text at bottom of screen. Could just have been unlucky I suppose.

Can anyone tell me if this will be suitable. I want to connect to my laptop when at home for work purposes but also play some Xbox. Is this good enough or is it worth getting an IPS panel?

I bought this the other day for use with my PS4. Looks really good. Only downside is lack of internal speakers so you may need a hdmi splitter or headset for sound.

Looks like argos have the spec wrong then as they say it has internal speakers, no one else says it does so I guess argos have it wrong again, no shock there.

Can anyone tell me which is better this monitor or TV for the kitchen, only for streaming purposes via a firestick??

If it's just for watching videos I would recommend a tv over this as an ips display or an oled one offers much more accurate colours.
