Damn I remember when this was 215 with a free ubi game.
Really hoping by black friday the prices have normalised.

all the 1060's have crept up quite a bit in price & the 1070s are coming down. I would have loved to have got the 1070, but the wife would attack me!

Price to performance its made everything a bit rough. 1060 - 1070 - 1080 its pretty linear. Increase in price between cards almost directly relates to performance right now! Got my eye on a 1080 myself though. Would do me for awhile and I'm planning on picking up Destiny 2 at some point anyways.

I remember when the top graphics cards were about £100 max... :disappointed:
I really want a 1080ti but part most of me is telling me not to do it!

Both good cards and yes I'm speaking from personal experience, ultimately made redundant by the Voodoo 3000 (again at around £100)

Bit the bullet and bought this over the RX580 amazon pre-order. Hope I made the right decision :joy:

i was torn as I could see a 8gb rx580 on pre order for £220 via amazon
Decided to go with this as: - benchmarks are indicating there is barely any difference in performance - better driver support. How many times has a game been released where AMD owners get the shaft - lower power requirements, so cheaper PSU - Game stream support via shield or moonlight. AMD restricted to stream stream which is harder to do over the internet.

You haven't.
You're very wrong.
Drivers - they're actually equal in terms of drivers atm, and have been for the past 2 years or so Power - Nope, the difference is at most 60-70 watts, so while slightly lower power is nice, these differences are not going to effect your PSU choice
The other two are somewhat valid if you do those things.

Why haven't I exactly? Some valid information would be nice to back up why the 580 is better than this card. Apart from the 580 being better at mining. There's is not much difference between the gaming performance from both cards as far as I can see.

I don't agree.
100W makes a decent difference to the cost of a psu.
yes drivers fairly equal at the moment, but it's taken a long time to equalise.
like it or not, nvidia cards offer better game streaming options.
as I said I very nearly went for the rx580 as there isn't much in performance. The above factors tilted me towards the 1060.
you can't go wrong with either card.

^^I bough the PowerVr card thinking that no way would the 3dfx card beat it for support.........so i was spot on with that. lol

Tempting... especially given that my R9 290X is currently on eBay and climbing up in price nicely... at the rate it's going I'll be able to buy this without putting any extra in! Must be that sexy 32Mh/s hashrate it can hit.
Currently um'ing and ah'ing between a high-end 1060 or a mid-tier 1070. I can't make my mind up really.

Chances are you will get this card before the RX580 arrives in a month or so. No back plate seems to be minor issue. Of course you could order this and RX580 and just see which arrives first. Hopefully this if in stock?
You can also get Zotac Mini for around £239.99 before postage from Overclockers.
Both seem to be in stock. You are paying a £25 premium on the AMP card compared to April. Not too bad considering the mining craze. I really doubt these prices will go much lower. Small impact from Vega on 28th?

Sod it bitten the bullet and let the moths get some air.....purchased, thanks O
1060 Positives. Lower power consumption. Available today. Great performance for price. 5 year warranty. Only 6 pin power connector required compared to 6 and 8 for RX580. Only 8 inches compared to larger RX580.
Negatives No SLI or back plate. Fall behind RX580 on DX12 games. Costs more than RX580 by £35. Assuming Amazon could ship it in 4-8 weeks.

If the rx at 225 was readily available I would have probably bitten.
i do frequent travel for work so good to have game stream option. So wouldn't have liked the rx as much for that reason

Apparently there's also DRAM shortages now... so good luck. Don't think prices are going to get much better for awhile. So if you NEED a GPU now then this is a decent deal.

Now shown as pre order. Firms seem to get stock. Sell out quickly then wait 1-2 months for new stock.

Been searching for reviews here. Albeit most 1 year old.
The question is if you ordered the RX580 do you order this instead? At £220 the RX580 is very good value. This is availble today.
