Great deal on Desktop computer but there are conditions! Read carefully.
This is great deal but not everyone will be able to get it. Currently, it's being sold for £919 but Littlewoods has an offer of 25% back on computers taken out on buy it now, pay later terms if you purchase before 24 August. First, you MUST have an available credit limit of £1915.23 because Littlewoods will load your account with £945 of interest which will look a bit scary on your account but if you pay it off within 12 months you won't be charged any interest. Secondly, you MUST select the buy it now pay later option for this to work (either 104 or 156 weeks). In September, Littlewoods will reduce the £919 by 25% taking the overall cost down to £690.00. I did this earlier on this year with a laptop and got a fantastic deal so it does work. Make sure you take a screen grab of the 25% deal from the website so that Littlewoods can't refute refunding 25% in September. Sounds a bit complicated, I know, but it does work! It'll work on other deals but this one seems to a particularly attractive option.
Deal terms:
1. Buy all Computing £349 or more and select Buy Now Pay Later in checkout.
2. We'll automatically credit 25% back to your account by by 28th September 2017. We'll email you when we have applied the credit to your account.
Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) allows you to delay payment for 12 months. The payment free period starts when you place your order (including items which are purchased on pre-order and/or are not ready for immediate dispatch).
Select BNPL at checkout and the repayment period of either 104 or 156 weeks. This is the repayment period you will pay over, once the payment free period (12 months) has ended.
The interest rate typically used to calculate BNPL interest is 44.9% per annum. Your interest rate will be detailed in checkout. The interest is calculated on the payment free period and the repayment period. You can avoid interest by paying the cash price in full within the payment free period.
Delivery charges and other Financial Services products are not available on Buy Now Pay Later and will appear on your next statement.
Order must be placed online. If you return your item, the credit will be reversed. This can't be used in conjunction with other offers (entering a promo code in checkout will exclude you from this promotion). Offer live 10th August - 24th August 2017.
Please note, if you have non BNPL purchases on your account you will still need to make at least your minimum payment as detailed on your statement.

Minimal and not worth the risk of complications. Nowadays, I just buy a complete system and upgrade individual components at my leisure.

How much would you save building it yourself? I'm out of touch with the latest technology but this looks decent.
Actually I just quickly looked at the parts for the next model up (Zoostorm StormForce Hurricane Gaming PC ) and I think you could save £200 even after the 25% is taken off.

Save some money and go for a Ryzen 1200 for £100 - pair it with a B350 MB and it will OC to 3.8GHz minimum.

This really isn't a deal of any kind.
Its an obstacle course of conditions.
And if it fails and you don't get the 25% off you end up stuck with a massively overpriced PC and over £1900 in the hole to Littlewoods for something that's literally worth about a third of that if you were to buy it outright.

Have you had a bad experience then? I purchased a pretty good spec laptop earlier on this year and paid about £250 less than it was actually worth in the end. It's really not difficult to do so long as you can get/have the credit limit, are confident of paying it off within a year and keep a copy of the terms/offer you purchased it under. Well worth 5 minutes of aggravation for me.

Its the requesting then drawing of almost £2000 credit that's the big no no for me and I imagine lots of others. It really should not be necessary to buy something like this and people should really think long and hard about that point and the impact it will have on their finances should it all go wrong.
If you need to request that amount of credit to buy something of such relatively low value and indeed poor value you should be re-evaluating your finances.
I should add that I wouldn't buy such a low specced PC (IMO of course, others may disagree) either using a deal such as this or as a straight up purchase.

I don't have a problem with it personally, but I could see where someone who hadn't given it proper thought could get themselves into trouble. Once the 25% has been credited however, I'll pay mine off so it's a no brainer for me. If someone's not confident of paying it off in a year then, like you, I wouldn't recommend it.

You can get some bargains from the Zoostorm ebay page if you keep watching, esp the refurbs stores.ebay.co.uk/zoo…les
Trying to bring one up as an example (damn you ebay, for clearing your cache so ruthlessly) but the price on this went down by an additional £50 - also a refurb, can't remember the grade: ebay.co.uk/itm…777
