Geez that model is so punchable Scrolling down the mens stuff is pretty painful
What's a good affordable or semi affordable outdoor retailer or brand?
Seems either fake RRP discount china gear which regatta seems to be, tresspass and mountain warehouse and sports direct, or what seems to overpriced stuff from millets/blacks, and good quality but very expensive stuff like patagonia etc.

I used to sell Regatta stuff and it's c**p! So probably about its price point! :unamused:

I wouldn't say Regatta is crap, but this appears to be the dregs of the sale, when I searched for boots for men, they had only one pair, for size 4, 5 and 6 (so more kids size than for men).

A couple of decades ago they were a decent brand, but quality has fallen a long, long way since then.
I used to buy the exact same model every time, as it suited my feet and was light enough that I could wear it all the time. (Bone fragments in my ankle, so I needed the support of a light boot all the time).
1st pair lasted 2 years 2nd pair lasted a year 3rd pair lasted 4 months.
90% of the usage was indoors on a tiled floor, so no excuse for the inners to collapse or the tread to come apart.
In 2008, after that 3rd pair, I stumped up £110 for some Miendl's; they are STILL going, despite best part of a year of tramping around SE Asia.

you are entitled to your opinion, but without any fact to support your statement, your comment is pure rant
I have used Regatta for years, cycling in the rain, hiking, skiing etc. and I've had no issues. Never been wet, always warm. and comfortable :sunglasses:

Regatta tens are fine, but the shoes are the worst, lots of hidden and visible plastic in them, theyruin extremely fast (mine lasted 2 weeks), and they use that glue which once wet deteriorates and smells of fish. Honestly steer clear

I have just bought a few things so will see what the quality is like. Very limited size options, especially for men, but if you can find your size you can't criticise to much at the costs.
6% cashback tracked on Quidco, too.
Returns? Find a fault to complain about then they have to pay the postage.

I'll add another gripe to this list, it's the returns, there not free. As prices are so cheap on their website at the moment you may end up paying nearly double the price of what you've already paid if you're not happy with your purchase. It doesn't seem worth it.

Regatta is much better than the Karrimor rubbish from Sport Direct.

I've had various regatta items, all have been great quality for the money and lasted well, I actually preferred my regatta soft-shell to the the North Face one that has replaced it. The top model waterproof I've had for 10 years with loads of use has just been replaced with the Regatta ravenscliff, I don't think you can argue for the money but obviously if you can get better if your want to spend a lot more.

I feel bad for the likes of karrimor etc, they had no choice but to sell their brand to the devil because that's where you lot were shopping at the time!

Most regatta stuff is complete crap. Could double up as a sick bag I guess, useful if you're a CEO that behaves like a twat and can't stop drinking.

The ironed on Regatta letters had worn off on a fleece after about 3 washes. Not the end of the world, but 'egat' makes it look tatty. Not sure how durable the stitching etc. will hold up. Probably better suited for children, as they grow out of clothes so quickly. Heat added
