Complex answer:
1. limited capacity (fab upgrades) 2. mobile demand (even though i think this is tapering) 3. occasional fire - which stops a major fab 4. uk currency devaulation
All the above has caused issues in supply, this includes everything from graphics cards to mobile phones.
