Always used to buy Dulux without fail, but a few weeks ago I wanted some White Matt Emulsion and was in Screwfix for a few things. I saw some Crown emulsion at 40% of the price the Dulux had been at Costco and gave it a try - much better going on, better opacity and nicer dried finish. Really surprised that there were much better paints out there than Dulux, and the fact that Dulux has doubled in price in the 3 years since Akzo Nobel acquired them.

- its been 8.99 forever in my local. It's excellent for a mist coat on new plaster watered down - when painting on it almost looks transparent, but dries white an hour of so later.
I am sure it's the same paint as Screwfix Basics emulation for 9.99 Forget the bogus 15.99 as it was never this price, and it's not worth 15.99 if it was

Managed to track down a straggler at Walsall Wood today. Just as I was admonishing myself for embarking on such a fool's errand, there it was - no shelf ticket, broken seal but looked unopened and about the right weight.
