OK, I just used this. Convert 1000 points (£5) and get 500 points back - so, basically it's a free £2.50.

It doesn't mean anything unless you have personally received an email with the offer.
The link that you clicked would show for everyone even if you clicked on the link without being logged in at ebay in your browser's incognito/private tab (ie even if ebay didn't know who you are)!
