Not to take any credit away from dave99461who found the offer first. I've been indecisive whether to buy it. Went to have a look today has quadruple data on the cheapest tariff. All you have to do is order before midnight on Monday 4th September while stocks last. Please be careful, it shows as £16 which is what I first saw but that's without the PS4!

It looks like they're being sneaky, they've a £16 no PS4 option with nothing in the basket, or the £18 option where it shows the PS4 also. You still get quadruple data though, I'll close this offer.

My contract runs out in December...If they had this offer in December I would have bought it straight away. I can see the £18 deal on mine...1.2GB of data is good for me

I managed to get 2500min and 2GB (not 6GB) of data for £21 after ringing them the other day, but I noticed that I missed out on the £45 Quidco.. So I just rang them and cancelled my order, ,then re-ordered it online using Quidco, I went for the 2500min with 6GB data for £24, works out a little more for the extra data overall but I'd rather have too much than not enough..

Looks like you could cancel the contract if you wanted so total would be:
24 * 17 = 408 + 1 = £409
Nice way of spreading the cost of a PS4 and a phone if you have a borked one already.

Has anyone got their PS4 yet or is the earliest day Saturday? Mine's coming Tuesday along with the phone. I was thinking of selling the slim and buying a pro as I already have an original PS4 with a 2TB HDD so ideally I'd be looking at moving that into the lounge and putting a pro in the gaming room..

9 Aug 17#35
I've seen quite a few reviews saying it's a good phone at the mid range level, seems to have a fairly decent spec. I imagine there are some that don't rate it for whatever reason but I think nowadays most phones are pretty much the same in terms of features etc! and most people tend to stick with the same brand, this will be my fourth Sony phone in a row now. I just get used to the layout and find that other brand phones feel awkward to use.. Plus you get remote play on a Sony phone

Personalyl think its better to get refurb sony x, it was one of there flagships last year costing 400£, now 130£ refurb from envirophone and ebay, better specs, i know its not new like this one but its overall better specs

I pay Virgin £10 per month on SIM only 30 day 2500mins, 6gb data. It's £24 per month 24 month contract here i.e. £14 per month more, I calculate the hardware to be worth between £350-£400 so don't see this as attractive to tie up to a 24 month contract, or my missing something.
mtc1
10 Aug 17#51
Yes, £1 per month airtime with only annual RPI increases. That to me is the real bargain.
kwesleyb
10 Aug 17#52
"The charge for your airtime plan will increase with your July bill each
year from July 2018. Any increase will be in line with the retail Price
Index (RPI) rate of inflation announced in the April before and we’ll
always give you 30 days’ notice of the exact increase each year."
Thats a tad alarming if its going to go up some stupendous price  Im really tempted regardless, but I cant see the PS4 anywhere in the basket. I think I may do this over the phone.

10 Aug 17#53
the wording of the offer is weird when you scroll down
"Sony XA1 with PS4 offer: Receive a PS4 and Uncharted 4 game when you purchase a Sony XA1 from Virgin Media on our £18, 300MB Freestyle Pay Monthly plan. Available while stocks last. The PS4 and game will need to be returned with the handset along with the original packaging and all accessories if the order is subsequently cancelled, or is exchanged for a different handset. If your PS4 or game is damaged on return or you fail to return all the parts and accessories, we reserve the right to charge you for any repair or replacement cost. There is no cash, credit or other alternative; it is not transferable."
I deffo want more than 300MB if i get this offer but the wording above seems to imply the PS4 is only for the 300MB option. hmm. Anyone else had confirmation they gonna be sent one on the other tariffs?

Iv`e got a similar Virgin deal ( with a telly Tablet )
The two items are seperate.....I`m thinking that if they do something which allows you to walk away from the phone contract you won`t be able to keep the "freebie" or phone as its a financed product you are buying outright
I maybe wrong but in the past when price rises or other stuff meant you could walk away from your contract penalty free you got to keep the phone
mannin
10 Aug 17#57
It's not a freebie though, it's part of your credit agreement with the phone, this price won't ever change. The only part of the contract you can leave is the SIM deal. And by doing this you have to pay up the what ever is owed on the phone/telly tablet.
Hot from me! A new phone for the wife & a new tariff & PS4 for me. Good spot Mr OP.

Anyone purchasing this thinking after the contract ends that the tariff will remain at £1 be very careful, if you read the T&Cs the tariff increases annually by RPI, that means that if they raise by RPI or less then you cannot leave penalty free, however they could raise it by 500% but then you could leave penalty free, this happened with my unlimited everything tariff, basically they wanted me off the tariff so raised the price by £3 each year until it became uneconomical to stay on it, and each time I spoke to them they just said I could leave penalty free as per T&Cs

Yikes. Was the box damaged when you opened it? Either way, get in touch with Virgin and get them to send a replacement unit.
Mine arrived today, thankfully with no screen issues. I wish it had a fingerprint sensor and was compatible with the PS4 Remote Play app (without having to tinker with the software), but those two gripes aside, it's a nice little mid-range phone.
