I wanted to take advantage of my spotify subscription and download my play lists. This converter allows you to do this and then you can burn your music to CD or transfer to MP3 players! Not sure how legal it is or if spotify could ban you though...

And now everyone will do this and Spotify will find a way to prevent it. Brilliant post.
Oh, and you did not say that you need to buy Sidify in order to be able to save more than 3 minutes of a song.

Only free for Windows not MAC :disappointed: Heat anyway.

From what I can see you need to pay them $39.95 to be able to download. Should be in the title.

I can download music?

Probably illegal, definitely immoral.

I don't see it like that, I'm paying a monthly subscription for spotify

You're paying a monthly subscription to be able to stream music or, presumably, play downloads within the Spotify app. You haven't paid to keep a copy of the music to do with as you like.
On Spotify, the artists get paid on the number of plays their music gets. Doing things like this means they don't get paid.

Yeah you're right. I won't use it then. I didn't see it that way before.
Are the adverts really annoying on the free Spotify then or is it still worth subscribing for £4.99 a month?

I find ads in anything annoying, so pay subs for streaming, but use Google Play because I thought it was a better service when I signed up. I hear Spotify has improved a lot now, but I've not looked into it yet.

Dont waste your money on the £4.99 fee to remove the ads! Use some adblocking software - I have AdBlock and Flashcontrol running on chrome and it kills them stone dead on my desktop. You can even select specific songs in certain orders. When you use the app I've not found a way to get around the ads and you can't stop it shuffling (Well I've not found a way yet).
Another option is to get yourself a student card through one of the deals on here, then you can get the full version of Spotify for a fiver and have ALL the options available to you - mainly the ability to save it offline.
Dont forget to try Google Play Music - there's loads of 4 month free trials. Personally I prefer Spotify, but free is free. Not sure if the last offer is still running - I set up another account last week.
I've not had chance to properly look into this "service". Does it just copy the music in real time? If so, there's plenty of spotify converters out there. As for immoral, I don't think I need worry about morality when it comes to multi millionaire diva's and record company shareholders, but that's just me.

I have the student discount for Premium. Mainly use the app on my phone for the car and for when I'm out. Is it worth it? Offline isn't any good to me really as I always have an internet connection and unlimited data.

Ah, if it's the mobile version then my suggestions weren't really applicable! But hey, maybe someone else might get some use from them?
If you don't use offline then I guess it depends on how annoying you find the ads, and if you like being able to play your music in a certain order.

Life is too short to do everything legal. Especially "stealing" money from multimilionars.
Immoral? Because people throwing up their guts on the sidewalk at 23 evening in city centre is moral? You should reconsider your view over life and living in 'modern' ages.

I've considered it carefully, thanks. I'm actually concerned very little about the legality of things, but the question was asked. As I later stated, it's the fact the artists won't be getting paid that makes it immoral.

btw Sidify doesn't rip the audio from Spotify, it searches third party sites for the track itself and downloads it from there.

Only if you were correct.
I did not know there are 3rd party websites that contain ALL Spotify music. And I am also surprised how every song downloaded via Sidify has exactly the same length as the ones from Spotify, they always come with the same quality, etc. - oh, wait, that is because it is using 3rd party website. Before misinforming people, do some research.

I don't understand stuff like this, if you want to steal music why not just torrent it? If you already pay for Spotify then the app is great
