Manufacturer fault with this model in that the rubber seal traps items of clothing that stay trapped throughout the wash cycle... Samsung refused to honour the agreement and said to use netted bags..

It actually says in the manual to use washing bags, how is that a fault?
Keyser00987 to MSK.

For small items yes ...not for long sleeve shirts is doesn't though ....
The fault lies solely in the rubber seal that can trap items of clothing including the arms of shirts
Quite a common occurrence on some forums

Would never buy Samsung again and 5 year warranty means nothing. Had engineers out twice a year every year then Samsung refused to continue to cover it. Had to get currys to take it over. Even with that 4 years in we got rid of it. Paid £500 for it. Same model listed.

This is a new model, released recently... not available 4 years ago... not saying that you may not have had problems with your one, but you should stick to the facts.

Had 3 leaks and continuously smelt no matter what we did. Cleaned hoses. Washing machine clean. Soda Crystals. Bleach. The lot. Bought a £330 Beko. Massive improvement.

Every engineer from currys know how all said stay away from Samsung. Awful to work on and poorly made.

Samsung in Asia is very popular and a common household brand. My parents home in Singapore have Samsung led tv, washing machine and fridge. They dont really have any problem with them and they do last long. However, I found that the Samsung here was mostly made in Polish and I had nightmare with Samsung washing machine. Had to call service engineer 3 times after we got it within the 3 months. Big argument with them and finally got changed twice and the machine is still working fine for 2 years now.

Does it end up receiving a 'Which Best Buy' then?
Thanks for that, I think I'll go for this one now... was supposed to be getting that steam-wash Argos one delivered on Monday but Argos couldn't read a postcode and delivered it to the wrong address  and can't redeliver until next Tuesday... So, it appears every cloud has a silver lining.

hahaha! I really can't decide what to do now... only thing, with hindsight, that put me off the LG is the speed 30 wash, which seems to be a feature of the lower-end LG washers, as opposed to the fast 14 wash on the higher end models (and the 399 Currys LG) I only really use the quick washes and am a little concerned it's going to be limited on the Argos LG. Two weeks ago I neither new, or cared anything about washing machines, now I spend most of my waking hours thinking about them :joy:

I wouldn't if I were you. I tried to buy the LG but it wasn't available for delivery in my postcode... just make sure you remember to register it for the extended warranty. I suspect the LG and this Samsung will be almost identical in performance.

They haven't even given me a delivery date yet. Think it's just when it becomes available. Don't know if to wait or just cancel. I assume they are very similar. Seem it from the specs

I use to swear by Bosch but even they are rubbish value given the price you pay for them - sealed drums where you cant replace the bearings, you have to replace the whole drum when bearings can be had for £10 v £240, criminal!!! Samsung error codes once the 2 years warranty is up (granted they have extended to 5 yrs for this but do you want the misery) requiring a new PCB only to repeat itself 2 years later, Miele are well built but they are not without fault and given the initial price you pay its simply not worth it - all the big brands = beyond economical repair once something fails.
If you have not experienced any of this, then you have been lucky - I think Beko and those type of brands are good value in the long run.
One thing is for certain - do not buy anything with a sealed drum (google model number with "bearing kit" to see if its replaceable) otherwise be prepared to throw it out as for the price of a drum you can have new washing machine, and that doesnt even include labour costs if your not handy.
Reviews are for "when new" no measurement of reliability, and lets face it from £150 one to £500 - they all do the same job i.e. wash your clothes.

Yeah, my old washer that's recently broken was a Bosch (rebadged as a Samsung) that was still perfect after 20odd years until the door catch mechanism went. Brilliant bit of kit. I'm really off the idea of a Samsung after reading the problems with the circuitry and drum seal rotting / catching... even with the extended warranty I think I'm going to go for the LG.

Get an Argos cheapie £130 - £150 and get the 4 years warranty £80 (if you want) - makes more economic sense, sick of these big brands making mugs of the consumer, if you have an old washer and its working - trust me, keep it, they really dont make them like they use to (granted they dont cost as much either). My Bosch £500 washer got a Which award of the year but now its a write off after less than 4 years as the drum is sealed and I did the research and it had all rave reviews.

I'm gonna stick with my LG, £350. If it breaks after the warranty, it's still a pretty cheap option. Might just buy a new door mech for the old Samsung, tbh :joy:

Any opinions as to whether this is worth paying the extra over something like this 9kg Beko for £229 from AO? (aside from the warranty) ao.com/pro…spx

at very quick glance, less spin so washing be more wet, no wool wash it you need one, only 1y warranty.

It seems that manufacturers can’t produce a basic washing
machine that will be reliable for about twenty years unless it retails for £600
or more. Even if the buyer is prepared to pay this much he still has to choose
carefully.
We should have learnt by now that a reliable £600 machine will
be cheaper in the long run and much less hassle.

I have this machine, for over a year now. No problems. But the delay feature is annoying... it delays the end of the cycle rather than the start.. so to work out when it will start you need to work out how long the particular cycle you've selected is then subtract the time. Don't get excited about the EcoBubble feature.. it only works with powder detergents, and who still uses those?
