Award-winning Mexican Tequila Olmeca Altos Plata is a 100% Agave Tequila of astonishing character and unprecedented smoothness. Olmeca Altos is exclusively produced in the Los Altos Region, in the Highlands of Central Mexico. This particular region offers the best conditions to produce our main ingredient: the blue Agave. A slow and complex elaboration process results in a smooth Tequila with citric flavours. Olmeca Altos is best enjoyed neat or on the rocks.
Olmeca Altos Plata can be enjoyed neat or in a delicious Tommy's Margarita - Altos Plata 50ml, Lime Juice 25ml, Agave syrup 12.5ml, Shake all ingredients and strain into rocks glass over cubed ice.
An aromatic and fruity Tequila. Sweet in the mouth, with citric notes like lime - lemon cooked agave.
The aftertaste is well balanced, pleasant and longlasting.
This Tequila is born from a partnership between UK Bartenders Henry Besant and Dre Masso and Olmeca's own Master Distiller.

Here's some reviews from the Amazon linky above:
Taste the diference By Kestutis Stankeviciuson 25 November 2016 Just to see if this tequila is any better than that not 100% agave You can get in supermarkets, I made first margarita with "Sierra" tequila and than with this one. Diference is stuning, this one is so smooth, no bad aftertaste, I couldn't stop sipping. The other thing is I paid less for this one than for "Sierra".... (So thank You amazon for great deal...) One more thing, if You like Your tequila with salt, buy real natural one, it makes a big diference.
Great Taste - Easy to drink By Lukeon 12 February 2017 I've been trying a few different tequilas to use in cocktails, and this is one of the best. Great in Margaritas, a cool addition with sweetened, dark ice tea, or one of the easiest tequilas for shots. Nothing special in: Palomas and Long Islands - so buy cheaper tequilas for these.
Exceptionally talented for the price - a step up from ... By Citizen912 3 January 2017 Exceptionally talented for the price - a step up from your name brands without breaking the bank. Your liver will thank you for it
Use for the perfect margarita By Chris Stewarton 20 November 2016 If you are looking to upgrade from a standard tequila this would be a good choice. 100% agave and it stands up well against more expensive brands I've used. This can be used on its own or combined with the reposado to make a beautifully fresh zingy margarita. Once you've tried one made with this, an equal quantity of fresh squeezed lime juice and a splash of Cointreau you'll never ever reach for the cheap stuff again!
the best tequila I have had in a long time By Eddie 8 Fingerson 4 January 2017 the best tequila I have had in a long time. my pal and I went through the bottle in one sitting, incredibly smooth not like that Cuevo rubbish out of the supermarkets.

Damm you Amazon, just as i was beginning to sober up you go and push a deal like this, curses to you all and your ridiculous pricing of good spirits. Tried this last year and it was good, so much better than all of the supermarket brands, and a good deal less than most spirit retailers can provide. And its true, you dont have to use it as a cocktail base, its good enough on its own ... in moderation, although the hangovers are easier on the head than a single malt, still should be drinkaware and make sure you are not committed to driving for a few days after opening.

This tequila is mentioned in a US article "Best Tequilas Under $30", and offers more information (if you're curious) tastetequila.com/201…30/
Olmeca Altos Plata This brand started in the UK, and eventually made its way to the USA. Created by a pair of well-known bartenders, it was designed for use in cocktails, and it also tastes great straight, all while not breaking the bank. (Tequila is more expensive in Europe than it is in the USA.) It was a tall order, but they managed to create exactly that.
Many tequila aficionados love the complexity and depth that comes with tahona-crushed products (such as Fortaleza, Suerte, and Roca Patron), but these products are usually priced higher because the production method is slow and costly. Olmeca Altos is made up of 50% tahona-crushed agave, and 50% roller mill.
During the 2014 Tequila Challenge blind tasting events, Olmeca Altos Plata received the overall highest scores in San Francisco. In Seattle, Olmeca Altos Reposado was the second highest scoring tequila out of six, and every other tequila in consideration was at least double the price.
You can find Olmeca Altos Plata and Reposado for around $25 for a 750ml bottle.
I’ve spent a good amount of time drinking this. Here are my score and tasting notes from the Tequila Matchmaker app:
Olmeca Altos Plata: 89/100 “Faint aroma of tobacco and slight musty leaves, with a very delicious sweet finish. For the price, you can’t beat this blanco. Feels fantastic in the mouth, oily and substantial. How the hell did they make such a good tequila at this low price?”
Olmeca Altos Plata Tequila (80 proof) Visual: Perfectly clear. Nose: Fresh cut agave, sweet rock candy, herbaceous spice with a hint of green pepper. Taste: Bright, fresh and almost effervescent with tinges of candied ginger. Pepper comes through immediately, but soon fades to agave and mint. Finish: Long and with a tannic clarity that is unusual for a young tequila. At the far end of the spectrum lies a caramel finish. Overall: Perfect for shots, Margaritas, Frostbite cocktails, what have you. Very versatile and classy. GSN Rating: A

Price seems to have went up - £20.90 now. Wish the Patron was £20 like it was last year (I was lucky enough to get that for sis - who was absolutely thrilled!!) hotukdeals.com/dea…846
