31st August. Damn, I best try and see if can get it sorted out, hopefully thats the cut off day for requesting it, not actually getting it.
I do have 3 other questions I'm wondering about now with having this
1. When it comes to returning the car, at the end of 2 years, do you have to take it yourself to the particular dealers, eg Nottingham place in the earlier linked site?
2. The option to rent a normal vehicle for up to 14 days, is that only redeemable from the particular garage you bought the car from? so again, would be Nottingham, or can you pick it up from any Nissan dealer.
3. Likewise with question 2, but to do with getting it serviced after the first year

The below taken from BBC article suggests it could be 235 miles, if we presume Europe refers to NEDC cycle. Begs the question why tests vary so much between US and Japan to come up with a difference of 100 miles on the range! :astonished:
Are U.S tests more stringent, which is good if it more closely mimics real life riving situations. Quite surprising if that is the case as the beating heart of the capitalist world would've had to take on the automakers lobby.

Yes, you are allowed up to 2 chargers per house.
If anyone is looking for an existing model Leaf it looks like you may have to hurry. They aren't building them due to the new model being launched on the 6th so the only ones left are stock models.

I think the 4 day test drive offer runs out on 31st august. It was a bit of a faff getting it set up though, took a good week to organise. No limit to how far you can go but obviously range will limit you more, and access to fast charge points!
Midnight.Tboy
27 Aug 17#80
Also....does anyone know if you take out a PCH or PCP are you still entitled to claim this deal?
Oh I didn't realise you could do a 4 day test drive. I've just searched and looking through the info on that now.
Is there limits to how many miles allowed to do on the test drive (ie so I could try it for work commute, plus the regular shop trip on the 4 days...(so around 30-50per day ish probably?
SFconvert
27 Aug 17#78
I've had one on a 4 day test lately, must say I'm impressed overall, although the 0-60 doesn't look that good on paper they really do go esp between 20 and 50, and they are so smooth and response is instant. It was the 30kw version, with moderate driving it looked like 140 miles plus was quite achievable, did about 55 miles of fast mostly motorway driving at around 70 /75 and range does drop above 60 mph quite considerably though. Standard charger is the 10amp (2.4kw, so assume about 14 hours for full charge). There's a Lidl near me which has a free fast charger, the LEAF also uses the "chademo" attachment which charges at 50kw, it is very rapid up to about 85% charge then continues to charge at a slower rate as it gets to 100% (though still much quicker than the standard 10amp charger, and free!). It took just under 30 mins to go from 50% to 98%, I disconnected before 100% as someone else turned up to use it. However if battery was empty I imagine charging to 80% should take a similar time ie around 30mins. Still deciding whether to get one though, if can get a 2 year lease deal that would be perfect. Bear in mind that the new one is out soon so hoping for some bargains, apparently they are flogging them off for $15k in the USA, however the new Leaf is rumoured to have a 147bhp motor, Vs this one's 108bhp, so it should be considerably more lively, perhaps around 8 sec 0-60 so hot hatch territory?

Thanks.
The Sandicliffe ones look like they're showing "in stock" cars, and showing £145.26 for a 9+23 or £161.22 for a 6+23. I wonder why this site doesn't let post deals from that website you linked to. Hopefully those info put in are accurate, and when actually select to obtain proper quote they don't miraculously change
From what I gather, there's no longer free charging points anymore for the most part, and from what I can tell, looks like a £1 connection fee, plus then the cost to use......still that's more of a rarity at least. Most of my journeys are for work uses, from site to site, but would normally not be more than say 60 per day (but typically around 30ish) . I'll have to check on what power connection options are, but assuming it as able to be plugged into a regular power socket (albeit at the slower overnight charge)

27 Aug 17#74
Thanks. I think I'm starting to get my head around this, I realised shortly after posting that being a zero emission car gets no road tax
So from what I gather, on a 2 year deal, the 6 + 23 means for the first month my bill is 6x the typical monthly rate(so 1200 if its £200pcm), and then the next 23 months would be £200
I'm just looking at your Sandicliffe nottingham deal....while I live nowhere near there, i'm assuming these sort of deals are delivered to anywhere in UK? Sorry, I'm very much of a car buffoon knowing little, as I've never been a petrol head:)

Everything you say is correct except Tiad Tax, that's included.

You don't get how it works do you? Firstly, if you're a big manufacturer like Nissan, you don't put all your eggs in one basket by spending an awful lot of money on some great design, to mass produce a car for a market that is limited in uptake. Where assembly lines are set up for mass production, it becomes inefficient and costly to change the run for a handful of vehicles. Tesla is a slightly different segment of the market with it's own proposition.
Secondly, you create a not so great looking base model for the masses but then add a better looking one with halo effect and charge substantially more for it. More than the actual difference in production costs.
Think BMW 3 series and M3 or Audi A6 and RS6.

By chance, I was on the MSE BG collective deal which ran out in Feb, British Gas had a tariff with the free electric on sat or sun (9-5) which I signed up for before the car. Milking it at the moment as it only lasts until next April and I think they've pulled the tariff. Saying that even if I would have had to pay for all the electric I think ~2300 miles would have been less than £65.

Really, that's good if that is the case. Financially puts it in the reach of many people. I think if you regularly do less than 100 miles/day (each way if you have access to charging at destination) then an EV is a must. I read somewhere of you want to make use of the Solar PV to charge the vehicle during the day then it needs to be a 16amp home charger. The faster 32amps won't make use of PV
Looks to be a good deal and I'd be very tempted if I could!
Have a look on speakev forum there are usually deals on there.
Great car BTW
By contrast, this isn't a bad deal at all.
I've driven a Leaf and a Soul EV on long journeys and I was very impressed. I think if you regularly do less than 100 miles/day (each way if you have access to charging at destination) then an EV is a must. Must be a large proportion of drivers that do less than 100 miles/day
I think some point over the next month a deal will pop up for £200.

I considered BEV, but went PHEV in the end (12 months ago now), thinking when my lease is up I will go BEV - Tesla3 the most likely candidate (75kWh version assuming it's available in the UK by then).
I bought my leaf on PCP in April. It was 18 months old and costs me the same a month so this is a fair deal, but prices will fall more soon
Hopefully the price on those will drop.
There is a cheaper alternative but unfortunately it appears I can't link a deal to it (banned?)
Alternative (cheaper) deal, on same contract terms is via Sandicliffe, here.
They charge a fee but payments are less and totals £4762 so about £55 less overall. Maybe get a dealer to match payments and wave fee making it even better?
