Buy the black Wii or 1st gen White Wii and they have the GC controller ports  all Wii's play GC games though and if you use homebrew then it's a win win!!

Spot on here. A Wii running Homebrew is arguably the most bang for your buck console to date, yes, even trumping a Raspberry Pi.

2 year warranty too

That's not even remotely true unfortunately. They have a 6 month warranty and you will often have to fight to enforce it. Too many posts on here mention the 2 year warranty. It's fiction :imp:
I know they say they offer a 2 year warranty. It's very dubious though. It doesn't take away from this deal, at this price, but people need to look at the warranty as being 6 months with an added bonus of possibly getting a little something back if something goes wrong between 6 and 24 months.
From personal experience it was a bit of a chore to get a monetary refund within the first 6 months. Never had to claim after that, but a friend bought a phone for over £250 that developed a fault less than 14 months later, and was only offered a £70 voucher.
This is not what people will expect when they initially read "24 month Warranty". I feel that should be made clear in all CEX deals.

Regardless, they've explicitly stated it in their policy, which they must abide by.

No, that's the point, their policy covers them in offering you far less than market value after the first 6 month period.
According to their terms, after 6 months you will only receive current market value in voucher credit.
In reality you won't even get that. You will receive the current CEX derived value of the item based on a lower grade. You will always lose out, and that's what I don't think people understand. In theory this could be as little as 1p if they are no longer selling the item, that's what they value it at.
Personally, I quite like CEX, and think the warranty cover is very good as far as second hand stores go. But, it's very misleading.

It looks like they try to repair/replace before issuing a refund, so if you like the item, you may receive another or fix your current
We also offer a 24 month warranty* (on all items purchased on or
after the 14th Nov 2015) on all items, except consumables (e.g.
batteries, projector bulbs etc.) so if your item develops a fault after
30 days through normal use, contact us as soon as possible. In the
first instance we will either repair or replace your item, failing that
you will be refunded to the original price within the first 6 months of
purchase. After 6 months any refund will be to the current sales price
or the original price (whichever is the lower). Please note that any
repairs done by a third party will void any warranty with CeX.
The reduced amount offered after 6 months seems fairly standard:
The retailer can also make a deduction from any refund for fair use
after the first 6 months of ownership if an attempt at a repair or
replacement is unsuccessful.
Yes, they're not breaking any laws. Those are your statutory rights. The CEX warranty is essentially just your basic rights plus a little added bonus of not having to argue your case for a little compensation after the initial 6 months. If that's what people expect from a warranty then fine, but it's not what I would expect. I'd expect to be covered for the full length of it ie. I would expect to have a working version (original, repaired, or replacement) for the full 2 year period. That is not the cover you have with this warranty.
This is not me speculating, it's from personal, 1st and 2nd hand experience. It would be interesting to here from anyone else that has claimed under the warranty?????

Was looking to install homebrew. Anyone know where I could get Gamecube controllers quite cheaply?

Most Cash Converters sell either black or white Wiis for £15. I've bought 2 recently for modding
