Nice little console. Shhhh.... don't tell Noahsdad!
But personally I'd forget about Pokemon Yellow and get it a fiver cheaper from Amazon.

cold because it is retro tech at a premium price. 2DS units are for mugs.

Or parents who don't want their children having 3d....

Except you don't have to buy a crappy bit of retro tech that is the 2DS to avoiding your kids having 3D. You either use the 3D toggle button to disable it or being the parent you just make use of the parental controls and go into the settings and disable 3D (takes all about 15 secs max to do that).
As it goes I have found kids don't like or use the 3D anyway, does not suit their eyes. So why bother with rubbishy retro tech, why not go with the better unit that is more comfortable, and a future proofed screen that plays all games and might suit your kid better when they grew up.
Nintendo will keep making crappy 2DS units, so long as people are daft enough to buy them.

But why would I pay more money for something my children won't use? I don't even use the 3D function on my DS so actually this model would be perfect for my needs too (and cheaper than the DS I have right now)

how much did you pay for yours?

I don't understand why technology this old is still selling for more than about £50.

It's the "new" 2DS - the old ones didn't fold. It has a bigger screen, a better processor, Amiibo support, and it can play the "new" games (only example I could find was Xenoblade).

Not just Xenoblade but SNES games from the VC!

Rubbish. ancient low quality pixelated screen..still they re-designed it and want premium price for the same thing.. have you seen the build quality? it feels so cheap and flimsy, it's beyond believe they want £135 for it..

Starting to think all these accounts slandering it are Noahsdad's alts

Yes that must be it.
It could not be that 2DS owners/fans are blind sided, or that other people see the obvious that is the 2DS is retro tech, and as such is a poor investment and not worth more than a small fraction of the RRP.

If you wanna talk about retro tech, the whole 3ds family is is retro tech, at most you can say they've revamped tech from 2011. You still don't get that people don't use the 3D function, therefore by paying less they are winning rather than wasting money on things they wont use.
You do realise some people don't have the luxury to buy consoles, thus the 2DS lineup is a far more viable option for them, allowing them to play the same games for less money.
Overall, its whatever suits the consumers situation at the time.
