The Nextbase RIDE Motorcycle BikeCam is the first dashcam developed by Nextbase that is designed specifically for motorbike riders. With a fully waterproof IPx6 housing, FULL HD recording, GPS tracking and Wi-Fi this camera is ready to capture everything on the road, no matter what the weather. As well as the standard handlebar mount the Nextbase RIDE BikeCam is compatible with RAM motorbike mount systems so you can easily mount it to any bike.
Dash Cams work by recording many 3 minute chapters onto the SD card. On a 32GB card this allows you to store approximately your last 4 hours of journey, then when full the device automatically records over the oldest 3 minute chapter. If you are involved in an accident the dash cam will recognise this with the inbuilt G force sensors automatically lock the 3 minute chapter that you are in and save it so that it cannot be overwritten, even if you continue to drive. You can also lock files manually should you wish to if you see something on the road and wish to keep a record for later.

Unfortunately not much choice for this type of product, I know. But there's a great review on Amazon from a very technical guy...
Quote: "I have been made aware that the Nextbase Ride last date of manufacture was January 2016 and ceased development/production in January 2017 and any further changes to the software/hardware cannot be implemented"
Basically, what you're buying here is a product with a fundamental bug in it, there will be no (and there has never been any) firmware release to fix this and there will be no support effort in fixing any further bugs discovered with this device. That this is on sale, still, in july 2017 with no mention of this from any of the vendor is appalling.

Watched a review on youtube and for this price I'm not impressed
Reviewer stated when fixed to the motorbike the quality of the video was an issue caused by vibration from the engine - number plates could not be identified.
I have a cheap (almost 4k) Gizcam that cost me about £35 mounted on my helmet that produces excellent image quality on par with the more expensive GoPro's but without the name/price tag. I don't know if GoPro's have some anti-vibration built in because I won't pay the extortionate price to find out.
Not voting because it's a deal price but not worth the money for bikers

Don't suppose you have a link for your one. I need to buy two and if you really rate them, I'll give it a go

Can't find Gizcam on Amazon anymore (maybe on fleabay?) - just batteries but this is almost exactly the same amazon.co.uk/Wat…KW4 @ £28.59 (maybe cheaper options elsewhere/different models)
And if you are not happy with the quality just return it for refund.
This link is me (going skating on some black ice back in January) on the link if video quality looks poor - click the HD symbol bottom right and select 1080P
I've got 2 4k cameras (cheapos) both do exactly the same job just different "brands" but I don't know the name of the second

Thanks mate. Hope the bike wasn't too badly damaged. We've all been caught out one way or another

2 panels @ £70 each need replacing when/if I sell it or partex
It was foolish of me. I didn't need to go out but I enjoy the ride and the freedom
I got a few busted or bruised ribs from the fall - I tried to shake it off but two weeks on I got checked out by the GP - all organs were OK but here's some strong painkillers
When finances change I'm going for direct access so I can get on the motorways and go further than current.

Cant beat a helmet camera vs a fixed camera. The only real advantage this item has is it can be hard wired for power vs maybe 3 hours on a helmet cam. I use a TomTom Bandit which has the benefit of being an action camera off the bike.

Yeah that's the compromise. I was running a helmet cam (Ion Air Pro 2) but the battery life is just not good enough for my commute anymore. I now have a fixed cam on the bike - the Innovv C3 - while it works great it is the lack of damping from being on your body ruins it a little. On the plus side, I was never a fan of the helmet mounted cameras always found they cause wind noise and attract idiots at traffic lights.
TBH the price of this and the messing about removing it everytime you stop (and the mentioned software issues) the C3 is in the same price bracket and has been super reliable.

My 2 cheap £35 4k cameras can be powered by USB - on long journeys I can connect a long USB charging cable (fastened with velcro strips down the back of helmet) into a powerbank stuffed into my jacket pocket
or
I can use the cigarette lighter point to connect a USB adaptor and charge direct from the bike (I usually use these to charge the powerbanks as these hold a longer charge for dashcam)
Most dashcams only last 90 mins (1hr 30mins) but like mine and the one linked above @ amazon they come with 2 batteries

Disclaimer - If you buy one of these there is a good chance you'll have to drive dangerously through traffic while shouting abuse to all other road users for minor mistakes before uploading the footage to YouTube for the world to see.

I personally would avoid 30fps camera's for motorbiking.... I currently have an expensive Sony camera but to be honest it's not much better than the excellent Xiaomi Yi I had two years ago.... I filmed this with it if you are interested....

Got a sena 10c. Doesn't seem to pick up audio in very bad rain but other than that is quite good. Also attach cable to spare battery to make it last.

well tested mine out on a short blast and have requested a return as it is too juddery on the bars and watching the video back is not good, so will go back to mobius on top of my lid with a powerbank in my inside jacket pocket.

Fixing any camera without any form of anti shake/dampening will always cause judder... I find I get best results with a camera mounted on my motorbike helmet as the body acts as a shock absorber
